DO NOT USE IKEA ONLINE!!
DELIVERY SERVICE IS APPALLING:
1) they do not give you a delivery date until after you've placed your order (so you can't pick a delivery day)
2) their delivery trucks are huge (impossible if you live in London)
3) they don't deliver when they say they will (I am waiting for my FOURTH re-scheduled delivery appointment) ...

Advantages: They turn up Disadvantages: Incomplete delivery
Be careful when ordering multiple items for delivery. You will be asked to electronically sign for the delivery even if the delivery is incomplete. The electronic signature is made on a hand held device but no details of the order or delivery are viewable when you sign. No documentation will be produced by the delivery agent until you sign. As far as the delivery agent is concerned they have delivered the goods even if you refuse them as incomplete. ... ...being despatched even if they were not physically present on the van. The delivery note is based on despatch and not on physical delivery so if any item is missing, they will claim that they have delivered it. If you refuse delivery on the basis that the documentation and the physical items do not match you will NOT be refunded the delivery charge. ...

(Fortunate I suppose if you do like huge blue and yellow buildings on your doorstep...on second thoughts maybe I'm glad I'm half hour away!)
I've visited their stores a few times ... ...had any complaints about the quality itself - in fact like the aforementioned imports I've always found it pretty solid, reliable and you know what you're going to get. But trekking round the stores has always put me off. I have over half an hour drive to get to my closest one in Warrington, you can queue for ever at the checkouts, if you have the misfortune to buy something and then once you've got home found anything wrong you have to repeat the ...
