I use this for times like the above, to read about a fave film or actor or when I have particuarly enjoyed a movie and want to watch others starring the main actors.
I came accross this site when searching for information on Adam Sandler and have used it ever since.

I decided to find out when it was founded, and discovered something I never knew. IMBD was founded on 17th October 1990. Now the bit I didn't know, it was acquired in 1998 by Amazon.com.

It has a great search engine so you can search for the name of a movie or TV programm, an actor, genre, director, writer, production companies. OK you get the jist.

The information it then provides you with is amazing and extensive. When searching for an actor you get their name and DOB etc, a mini biography, lists of everything they've starred in, odd trivia facts, and awards won. When you search for a film or TV programm you get a cast list, date of release, genre, plot lines, awards won, run time, country made in, goofs and quotes.

It has info on anything and anyone in the land of movies and TV, whether it is past, present or future.

I use it when purchasing DVD's just so I know a bit more about
the the storyline but also importantly who is in it. There are some actors that I love to watch (read my profile and you know who one of them is) and want to see everything they've ever done.

When looking at a cast list, everyone on it has a link to their own page so you don't have to constantly type names out, I find this to be a great time saving feature.

The site also has their own forum, although I have never used it.
They also have information on video games and whats new on DVD.

It also has links to other sites with news about a certain individual under the item Newsdesk. Good as it saves you having to search 101 websites.
