The beauty of these services is that you can either store your mail online, or have it redirected ... ...ISP , I just log on to iname and change the redirection address. I've no need to email all my contacts and tell them my new address. It's brilliant.
The only slight niggle is that if you sign up for an iname account, you must always login to it from where you signed up. Because I don't change ISPs every week, I had problems finding where I'd originally logged in as www.iname.com doesnt provide a list of partners. Eventually I worked ... more

The beauty of these services is that you can either store your mail online, or have it redirected to your POP3 account. SO each toime I change my ISP , I just log on to iname and change the redirection address. I've no need to email all my contacts and tell them my new address. It's brilliant.

Eventually I worked it out and now I'm sorted, but it's something you have to remember.
The other thing is that you can't use it to filter mail (to cut out spam), and I'm looking for one that can. I'd rather stop the spam before it's downloaded, so if anyone knows of a similar service that has spam filters I'd be interested.
So this is a very basic service that can save yu a lot of hassle. Also you can set up different accounts for different types of people. My current email was set up as a joke, but all my friends know it by heart, so I set up another one at mail.com that I use for business contacts which is redirected to my current ISP.
The service is free but for a few dollars a month you can have real POP3 access, but in my opinion there's no need as the redirection service effectively gives you POP3 access.

...to visit altavista.iname.com and not iname.com as the logon database is different and refuses me entry.
I've been using it for almost 4 years now, and was one of the few webmail accounts where you can have it forward to a POP account and doesn't seem to any ceiling on file attachents.
Up until recently it's been reliable though a bit slow, i.e. it can take 15 mins to half a day to deliver. Of late I think emails just disappear and bounce back to ...
