I had a hardware failure and desperately needed a new laptop. I order one from insight and after 3 days I had a message saying "we cant find your address!!!!" I called and they said that I have to fax them with 2 copies of my bank statement or utility bill. This is the first time in my life that one company requesting something like this. I'm a frequent internet buyer. Is just ridiculous..... I got very angry and I told them to cancel my order. I ... ...I bought a pc which was as expensive as the laptop, but from another company. Why they found my address? Why insight cant? Am I invisible now? If you just don't want to waste your time avoid this company. There are many other companies where you can get even cheaper hardware. ...

Advantages: Great prices, prompt delivery Disadvantages: Poor after sale care and Terrible customer service
I bought a laptop from Insight - great Spec Toshiba Tecra laptop which was much cheaper when compared both online and offline stores. I also ordered a port replicator and both of which were delivered promptly (next day). The port replicator was powered and so I returned it and it was delat promptly. However they still haven't credited the payment to my credit card after 3 weeks. I called them numerous times and been promised that someone will look ... ...phone call or the payment. It seems that everyone is keen on lowering their prices but not paying enough attention to their customer service when things go wrong. They are quick when answering phone calls but it seems impossible to speak to the right person who can deal with the problems. ...

I paid about £8 more ordering a router from insight because they offer next day delivery. The item failed to arrive next day. Item ordered tuesday evening....arrived friday. Customer support were initially helpful, but then did not respond to 2 message I left on voicemail. The person told me that she had a new phone so she wouldn't get her voice mail..... however she was able to receive my call using the same number. Sound like crap to you? Insight ...

Advantages: Good range of computer products Disadvantages: You need to know what you're looking for, bit pricey
...to go into insight.com/uk rather than insight.com (US site) despite their helpful "click here to remember your country choice", which doesnt remember.
Finally, Insight have recently taken over Action.com so it'll be interesting to see what they do - whether they merge both online companies or still keep both brands. ...

Advantages: Insight is Well established company that has been around for a long time. They have a big selection of products and you can find great bargains. Fast delivery Disadvantages: On the other hand their site is outdated and in many cases you have to contact them by phone or email before you put an order through.
Great Company, Great Prices, No So Great Site
I first found out about Insight 3 years ago from a magazine. I used it myself a few times and I was very happy with the service. As an IT manager I now buy 80% of the items required by the company from there.
The Website is not the best. In-fact the design hasn’t been changed for the last 3 years. It has direct links to product areas and it seems straightforward. The problem is after the initial ... ...of items sometimes over several pages to find what you are looking for.
Each product has the price next to it and Number in stock showing Real time availability.
If something is out of stock, it will tell you if they expecting some, when and how many. In some cases they only order item by request.
Look out for the ‘more info’ or the ‘tech info’ links that give you more details on the product. Unfortunately not all products ...
