Car premiums shoot up by the digit just for claiming insurances, those who have to pay it understand more. Obviously in a car accident where it is not your fault there is nothing much you can do apart from claim unless the other party is willing to sort out the cars privately resulting in no-ones premiums going up and the cars going home in one piece.
What can be classes as your fault, is if you're car gets burgled through lack of caring and assurance. Many things burglars look for are the key to the burglary itself...sounding confused...thought so. Let me explain.
Say you left your front window open by accident and went into work or nipped in the shopping mall. Burglars are prone to see your car windows open from a mile off; they look for clues from all the cars on display and spot them like a red dot in a white space. There goes your CD/Cassette player and other valuables available to the burglar.
A typical lazy burglar will jus pass all the cars and open the door slightly from the side to see if the car opens, if it does woohoo if not, next car please!! If cars are carefully locked and checked, you may see it parked in the same place in one piece.
Some lazy owners won't park their car and will just wander off into the corner shop with their car in ignition in the middle of the road, it may seem like a crazy thing to happen but believe me, where I live, and it is a common thing if you're just nipping in for a pint. The car is available for someone who can't be bothered walking, fantastic.
Leaving valuables in the car will only entice thieves to break in and either steal your valuables, or your car. You should always remove valuable items such as any cash, credit cards, jewellery and handbags. If you can't remove them, hide them out of sight or lock them in the boot so no passer by will think there is something in the car.
Other tips to reducing theft is by parking the car in an urban rather than rural area. As there are more people present near your car, it is unlikely it is going to be burgled into.
If you add eye-catching physical attraction to your car e.g. alloy wheels, toys etc, they are more likely to be targeted at rather than a plain car parked in an area spot. Always make sure you're car blends in with the crowd.
Car without alarms, immobilisers or security locks are easier to steal. Even if your vehicle doesn't have any security devices, it could be worth using stickers warning people that the car is alarmed as it will act as a deterrent to the thieves. Car insurance premiums will be reduced if you vehicle is fitted with an alarm or immobiliser too, which counts as a great advantage.
My car is a 52 plate which makes its insurance premium shoot up. Also because I have furry dice and other fancy ornaments in my car they are clearly visible by other cars. My car also has a CD player which can be removed each time I exit the car. Whenever I leave my car I always shorten the dice so they are less visible, I remove my CD player from the car so it doesn't act as an attractive valuable, and I have removed the alloy wheels as they are an invitation for burglars to remove them. A fact is once a burglar has removed their wanted piece of items, they look for more so the less you show, the less is stolen!
I hope my tips and advice are useful to you in the future and help reduce chances of your care being the victim of a horrible crime.
Good luck and thanks for reading my review x

Insuring a car with a chassis number
Review of insurance - lower insurance premiums by
sith76
Advantages: Cover when no ther insurance company could
Disadvantages: relatively expensive as a limited market
...my way to the British Insurance Brokers Association, who recommended me to a broker called A J Insurance Service 0870 444 3511. Straight away they understood what I needed and set me up a policy with a covernote showing the chassis number-this was all the DVLA needed. I have to say the price I paid was a bit more than the first quotes I'd had, but when it came down to it no other insurance company could cover the car. Service from AJ and turnaround ...
