Advantages: Cheap & SOME of the info is a good starting point for investigations Disadvantages: hard to navigate & lacks info
at £10 a transaction this is cheap - all I thought that I wanted. But... it never crossed my mind that I would need to consider how easy a site, that was linked with Halifax, would be to use. I use the internet a great deal, but was surprised to find how difficult it was to navigate - should you work out where to go, you still have to reopen pages to do actions that it would be sensible to be able to do from the same page ( e.g. you find a stock, ... ...page) and then have to re-sign in each time.
I am new to share dealing so it may well be that the following is standard practice, but I was surprised to find that the buy-price quoted in my portfolio was different to that quoted on my contract note. I searched the site for an explanation ( surprise, surprise) I couldn't find anything - I suppose it could well have been there but then it is so hard to navigate that I couldn't find anything. ... more

I use the internet a great deal, but was surprised to find how difficult it was to navigate - should you work out where to go, you still have to reopen pages to do actions that it would be sensible to be able to do from the same page ( e.g. you find a stock, you can't add it to your portfolio/ watchlist from that page) and then have to re-sign in each time.

I searched the site for an explanation ( surprise, surprise) I couldn't find anything - I suppose it could well have been there but then it is so hard to navigate that I couldn't find anything. Apparently, the price includes the charges so that you can easily see how much you have made/lost.
What it does have that is good, as a starting point for investigations there are fairly useful descriptions of the company and its activities - e.g. other parts to the company, its basic goal, the key members of the board etc... a lot of leads to help gather the info you should get before thinking of buying.
Another good thing is that they do respond to emails quite well, mostly quite quickly, and in set hours there is an online 'live assistance' as well as phone contact.
A negative point was that I found that on at least one occasion the present share price was quite diferent from that quoted on the LondonStock Exchange & BBC website even though the market had been closed for a couple of hours.
Another annoyance is that it does not work with Firefox.... but doesn't tell you that, so when I changed to Firefox I ended up locking myself out... other sites I use tell you that that is the problem when they don't let you in.BUT - the site is apparently in the process of being changed to be more like their parent company's site (circa June), so hopefully it will not just be more navigable, but also with a bit more useful and accessible info. It may surprise you that I recommend this site considering some of my comments, but the site is due to change, and if what you want is cheap you can get what else you want from other sites - and no site is perfect, but this is cheap, and they have been helpful. Have a look and see if you can work with it as it is for the moment... and count the cash you've saved!
Advantages: reasonable charges Disadvantages: problematic computer systems or management problem
the matter to the dealing team to solve it. It is now more than 10 days. I rang them so many times and still have not fixed the problem.
The most irritating problem is that www.iwebsharedealing.co.uk don't even apologise for their mistake or admit they had made a mistake. As a customer, what will you think? After numerous phone calls to their staff, this matter is still unsolved - not even a promise from the management that they will fix the problem.
What will you think of this company? Are they competent to do what they advertise ? What about my stock and my hard earned money? www.iwebsharedealing sold my stock for an inexistent price (much lower than the market price) ? This is ridiculous unfair to consumers for a company like this to exist. ...
