I bought a bottle, thinking that even if it didn't work I would still be getting a ... ...a good quality moisturiser with some self-tanning ingredient added to it, and the idea is that a gradual natural tan will build up on each application.
I had a bath before applying the Holiday Skin, and used a body scrub too, as I've heard that you should do this before fake tanning.
After drying off, I applied the lotion as a normal moisturiser.

I bought a bottle, thinking that even if it didn't work I would still be getting a moisturiser for a fair price. Holiday Skin is a good quality moisturiser with some self-tanning ingredient added to it, and the idea is that a gradual natural tan will build up on each application.
I had a bath before applying the Holiday Skin, and used a body scrub too, as I've heard that you should do this before fake tanning. After drying off, I applied the lotion as a normal moisturiser. It absorbs really well so you can put quite a lot on without it feeling greasy or sticky. I made sure that I covered my whole body, including my back, neck, and the backs of my legs. I did this for a few days before I noticed a difference in the colour of my skin, and after a week I had a healthy looking tan. It doesn't turn you orange like most fake tans do, and it gives you a great glowing look. Nobody would ever guess that it was fake, and they would probably just say you looked healthy! I made the mistake of not washing my hands afterwards though, and this turns your nails a bit yellow, so it's worth remembering to do this. Most people say that they don't like the smell of Holiday Skin but I think it smells really nice. The smell is fresh and it leaves your skin smelling clean. The great thing about Holiday Skin is that the parts of your body which tan easily will go a little bit darker, so it looks very natural, just like you have spent a day in the sun. It's impossible to make mistakes with this, and there is no way you will go orange or get streaks.
Holiday Skin is available in two sizes - the original 250ml bottle which costs about £4.99 when its full price, and the 400ml bottle which is about £6.99 normally. There are two colour choices - fair to normal skin, and normal to darker skin. I bought the lighter of the two as I have quite fair skin, but will buy the darker one for next time, as it will build a slightly darker tan on to the one I already have. There is also a Holiday Skin facial tanning moisturiser which works on the same idea, but the moisturiser will be more suitable for use on the face.
Recently there have been some other brands bringing out similar products to this, such as Dove Summer Glow, and some others. These tend to be more expensive, but also they might not be so gentle on your skin, as Johnsons make baby products, so they can definately be trusted not to cause reactions on your skin etc.
I would definately recommend Holiday Skin to anybody wanting to fake tan, but not wanting the orangeness or the streaks, and also wanting to do it cheaply - a bottle lasts for quite a while.

The lotion comes in a tall curved yellow bottle with a picture of some palm leaves on and it claims that it provides '24 hour moisturisation and gradually builds a beautiful, light tan.' There are two versions - a lighter one and one for darker skin. The lotion itself is white and goes on clear like a normal ... ...months - it goes on white so you won't notice it until it has tanned the floor! Oh and if you ever get fake tan on your hands, toothpaste washes it off! Johnson's Holiday Skin is available from all supermarkets for £4.45 for a 200ml bottle. ...

Johnson's holiday skin, wowee it's a week's holiday slightly off season in a bottle.
I was in superdrug and I spotted this nice yellow bottle of fake tan for just £4.95, interested I took a closer look.
When I read the bottle I remembered my sister in law telling me about this product, however I am always reluctant to try the things out that she tells me about as I remember back to a time when she had our legs virtually black ... ...of ( it was permitabs that you get for athletes foot they have a side effect of turning your skin brown..ish black..) Anyway I read the back and liked what they say about it being light and moisturising etc so I bought it.. This is what I did..
Had a long soak in the bath, used body scrub all over the areas I was gonna tan, rinsed off and got out of the bath.
I then applied my usual moisturiser, I know you don't need to do that with this product ...

Johnson's Holiday Skin, is a moisturiser with a hint of fake tan in it, which you apply daily and gradually build up a glowing tan. Unlike other fake tan which instantly make you look brown, this product creates more of a glow to the skin, rather than the tango orange look that other fake tans can create.
If I am wanting that glowing look, I usually spend apply this product for 4 days and this is enough time to create a subtle tan which makes the ... ...is in blue with the Johnson's logo on the front. The packaging could be more modern and attractive - perhaps with gold/shimmery colours on it.
I bought my Johnson's Holiday Skin in Wilkinsons for £3.89 - this is this cheapest I've seen it. But it is also available in supermarkets and chemists. It is available in several colours, this is definitely a plus point as obviously people's skin tones vary. I have very fair skin, so I use the fair-to-light ...

I am naturally very pale, so pale in fact I could be Casper the friendly ghost's sister. But when Johnson' released their 'Holiday Skin' a few months ago, I didn't believe the hype about 'gradually builds a beautiful, light tan', I thought 'the streaky, you've-been-tangoed look is back'! But after having seen some good reviews on it, I thought I'd take my pasty skinned chances with it.
So, firstly the price and packaging. I purchased mine at Boots, ... ...about what I'd normally pay for a body lotion so that's all good. It comes in two 'shades', 'light tan' for normal to fair skin [which I got] and the other is medium tan. Whichever one you get, the bottle is the same, a rather unsightly shimmery yellow colour, which doesn't look good on my bathroom shelf, and we all know looks count! ;)
Okay so the idea of it is, you use it like you would use a normal body lotion, and there is a tiny amount of fake ...

Johnson's Holiday Skin has to be my favourite fake tan around at the moment (I've tried tons!) I first came across it 8 months ago after rave reviews from some of my work colleagues and have been using it ever since. It is sold at all Major Pharmacies and Supermarkets and can be found with other Self tan and Sun lotion related products. If I am honest the packaging is not the best, Holiday skin is in an oval shaped plastic ... ...is instantly recognisable as a Johnson's product, and does not have the same appealing packaging as other fake tanning products available however for the price of the product and the results I achieve with it the packaging is not an issue.
When I first purchased Holiday skin I picked up two bottles as I needed to determine as to whether fair to normal or normal to dark would be better for me. Unfortunately Johnson's are a little flippant with the ...

Packaging
Even though the packaging is yellow, don't trust the content by its packaging... in my experience, the end result is most certainly NOT yellow.
The HolidaySkin Range
There is a range of the JohnsonsHolidayskin tones, you can get fair to medium, medium to dark and extra fair.
Absorbtion
Unfortunately, for me, this product did take a very long time to absorb which is a downside so i wouldn't reccomend putting it on in the morning - especially if you're planning on wearing anything tight or bare legs. If you put it on at night it should absorb okayby the morning.
Smell
This smell, i think, is divine!!! I love it so much and at the bus stop with my friends one day one of them even said 'does anyone smell tropical malibu?' turns out ...

So, Spring is upon us and the urge to rid ourselves of that white pastiness (or in my case a transparent blueness) has taken hold. My skin is pale, paler than pale so I am always on the lookout for something that will give my skin that natural glow.
