If you are an avid reader like me (or at least I was until I discovered the internet) you will be the lookout for a place to buy cheap books. I discovered justgoodbooks through I-points (to whom I will always be eternally grateful for pointing me towards ciao), and although I looked in order to gain extra points, I am very pleased I did.

To join you have to select between one and six books from the following categories

Top ten fiction
Top ten non-fiction
At Home (gardening, decorating etc)
Fiction
History
Leisure
Mind, body and spirit
Paperbacks
Real life
Reference
Children

You also get a free book when you join, in my case Painted House by John Grisham. I chose six books and the total price I had to pay was £30.47 including postage and packing. This was a saving of £94.00 on RRP. Not bad considering I bought one of the books at Christmas for my Dad in WH Smiths for £25 (I know I should have used Amazon but I’m a last minute shopper).

The books arrived in two days and my only obligation was to buy one more discounted book in six months. I’ve been stung in the past with book clubs editor’s choice because of me forgetting to opt out that month, so I was very particular about the small print. There really is no hidden catch.

You receive a club magazine through the post once a month and you can order and pay by one of three ways. Either on-line, by phone or by using good old fashioned paper and pen.

The website is very quick and easy to navigate and the selection of books is very good, although not vast. And this is where just good books come into its own. If they don’t have a book in stock you can order any British book that is in print through BOL and just good books will credit your account with 10% of the price.

For example I have wanted to buy Baby Signs by Linda Acredolo for ages and I have been searching the Internet for the cheapest price. The RRP is £12.99 and BOL does a discounted price of £11.69. With just good books 10% discount this brings it down to £10.52, so I’ve made a nice healthy saving.

For this reason alone I would recommend just good books but the introductory offer is the icing on the cake.
