I have been with Lloyds for over five years now and cannot say that I had any serious problems until I wanted to do online banking.
I also have a Barclays account which I have been "online banking" with and one day just popped into my Lloyds branch to see when they were going to go online.
Surprisingly they had already set up the service just missed out on telling any of their existing customers about it or advertise it at all. In fact the lovely assistant did not even know their web address and neither did her the rest of the staff.
However, as it is not really that difficult to find out and found it and signed up for it online. Silly me did not realize that I had to fill out two forms which would be sent to me by post over the next two weeks and which I would then have to take into the bank to get a witness to see me sign them. What a lot of hussle for nothing.
Their internet site is also closed for about 6 hours at night, which is when would be most convenient for me to use.

On speaking to an advisor it seems as though the paperwork is only necessary when the customer fails to pass the identification process. At least they take security seriously. I was logged on to the service within 5 minutes of applying.
Closing the service at night seems a bit unnecessary in this day and age though.

I have to agree with MistyBlueLady. My online registration was quick and easy despite having to make one phonecall. Since I registered I have had no problems getting online at all. Its much quicker than NatWest!

Are we talking about the same bank!!! I have been on-line with Lloyds TSB since about June last year. I filled in the on-line information and within the week I received my 'starter' pack and passwords etc. Since then I have happily banked on-line with zero problems. I work full-time and so my on-line time is from 6.00pm onwards and I have never ever found Lloyds TSB off-line.
Advantages: Track account movements and transfer instantly between accounts. Apply for e-savngs account. Disadvantages: Access code device doesn't work overseas
Advantages: They will extend your overdraft without your prior knowledge or permission Disadvantages: That overdraft will then cost you darely should you ever fall into financial difficulties
Advantages: I can check my balance or whether a payment has gone out without leaving the house. I can also set up a full months bill payments in one go. Disadvantages: I still have to go to town to get money out - unfortunately I can't see a solution to this problem

Review of LloydsTSB
Advantages: A hard copy statement can be printed out. Disadvantages: No identification of who has been paid, or paid you, although this information is provided in the normal monthly statement sent by post.
