my findings on using LLOYDSTSB online banking although this can be said for any of the online banking sites for any banks?

Nothing is stopping the growth of today's technology and the
advancement in the computers and the speed the internet has increased to in recent years. It is no wonder banks are now turning to the cyber world to increase there turn customer's numbers. It is now easier for the customer to stay at home and still have full view of there account information.

'Online' banking is the term given online accessibility. To use the online banking service all you need is
 A computer "Internet enabled,
 A phone line
 Account passwords as well as a user name; the user name is normally supplied by the bank, with you choosing the password.

With 'online banking' you can gain access to you bank statements, transfer money, set-up loans/direct debits even pay you bills.

Some Advantages of using online banking.

One is accessibility all the customer now needs to do is sit down at a computer and they can access there accounts. Also though it has to be mentioned that the customer can access there account form ANYWHERE in the world.
Take me for example
I recently travelled to Halifax, Canada minus 4 hours GMT and I was able to check my account as well as transfer money.

Another advantage is the customer can now access there statement anytime and anywhere. There is now the choice of still getting a monthly statement though the post as some banks offer to stop this. This has resulted in less paper being used as well as increasing the over all security to the customer who now has no paper statements to throw away. This can help prevent Identity theft.
Some Disadvantages of using online banking

It is my belief the people of today are far less fit than what they were some 50 or 60 years ago. With the new age of computers and the internet this has help people to become less unfit as even the simple job of having to go to the bank to get your money is being taken away. A lot more shops are offering online shopping and direct paying from your bank account. (This has even risen to some internet banks like NOCHEX & PAYPAL)

Another result of online banking is the fact more and more high street branches of the banks are losing customers every day this has resulted in the outlet being shutdown and staff redundancies.

There is no doubt in my mind by the middle of this century that most banking outlets on the high street will be shutdown. The banks themselves will all be online. Nothing is no stopping the computer age taking over the way we do things today.

Same again here, I'm afraid - an interesting review, but it wasn't directly about this bank itself. I'd recommend following COOOEEE's advice on getting your review moved to the right category. I'll be more than happy to re-rate then, let me know when it's done. x

As others have said, if this gets moved, let me know and I'll re-rate.

As said before the url to move the review to is http://www.ciao.co.uk/Member_Advice_on_Internet_Banking__60302I
