Advantages: Good prices on frequently ordered products Disadvantages: Bad customer service
At our workplace we were looking for a new stationery supplier after an argument with our current one over aftersales care.
After being cold called by the local representative we decided to have her in for a chat and see what they offered. Everything started out great, she came in and we discussed our most used products which she gave us some very favourable prices for. Their catalogue was huge but we were told to ignore the prices in that as we ... ...used' list consisted mainly of Dymo Labels, Copier Paper, DL Envelopes both plain and window, A4 & A5 envelopes, treasury tags, toner and drums for our printers and sundry things like post it's, pens and notebooks. We are only a small office and we definitely need value for money on the things we buy stationery wise.
They offered free next day delivery, and if they could not provide it then your order was free of charge. That was a major selling ...

Advantages: Excellent service, cheap prices, fast delivery Disadvantages: none I can think of
Lyreco are one of a host of stationary suppliers catering to the UK business sector, although much, much better. We've been using Lyreco for around 4 months now and have nothing but praise for them. As a past customer of Viking direct we were astounded by the difference in prices, not just a few pence here and there but pounds.
We were initially contacted by our local Lyreco representative who was in the area cold-calling on a number of businesses. ... ...week with a catalogue to run through the company etc. On him return he took us through the ordering process and set our account up. To set up the account we needed to place a small order from a "special" catalogue, this was easy as everything in this catalogue was heavily discounted (we opted for 50 hanging files for our filing cabinet at an introductory price of £5.99!), once this was done, the account was set.
