I go to St. Paul's School in London where I'm studying for my AS-Levels. I've really got into Japanese this year and I would like to go there to teach English during my gap year. I play and listen to loads of music; jazz, classical, metal, whatever cat...

Both Twigger and Mail2Web allow you to access your pop3 mailbox from any computer with web (port 80) access. You type in or select your details from a drop down box, click a button and have instant access to your mailbox. From here both sites offer you the ability to send, delete and move emails; pretty much everything standard web mail sites allow. And of course, both sites are free.
WHAT ARE THEY USEFUL FOR?
The main use for these sites is to access your mail from anywhere in the world. It is simple and easy. These sites are also great to delete unwanted mail on your ISP’s servers, rather than downloading it to your computer and dealing with it locally. If your granny has just sent you a 10 meg video of her playing gin rummy in the nursing home, you don’t need to spend days downloading it, just delete it off the server. And while you’re at it tell your granny to use a more advanced compression algorithm, perhaps telling her about the wonders of DivX and the Fraunhofer audio codec….ahem. Sorry about that, I’ll put my anorak away now.
This is a fairly open question. Mail2Web say that they do not log anything or store any details, indeed I haven’t had any security problems. They also allow the message bodies to be encrypted along with the name and password information, using their 128-bit encrypted service on their SSL server.
WHICH IS BETTER?
I used twigger.co.uk at first. It was simple and easy, and my ISP was included in the (very comprehensive) list available. But Mail2Web does allow you to enter *any* pop3 server….which is nice..;]
In conclusion, if you need this sort of service then both these sites would fit the bill. I find Mail2Web slightly better, more an feeling than any real reason. Just try them both and see which you like better. I suppose twigger does have a much better name though… :0]
