This site is an excellent way of showing distances, time, and routes to and from all sorts of places all over the world.
When you first enter the site your first impression is that it is only for the United States. But this is untrue.
There are 2 areas to complete:
1) The "From" address. 2) The "To" address.
These areas are nicely colour-coded for ease of use.To detail your route you follow easy steps as follows:
1) First use the drop-down arrow for the country of origin. Next is the optional street name. Then enter either the city, state/county, post-code or zip-code or go to the airport city code (United States only).
2) The "To" address procedure is entered as in the previous paragraph.
You then select the directions format. A) Line directions. This identifies road names in straight lines and distances from start to finish. B) Standard directions. This shows the route in map form.
At the top of the route is the estimated length of time and distance covered in kms or miles (whichever you have requested). Below this is a detailed direction list in various stages, showing which way to go, how far to travel and street or road names. These latter are in bold print.
You can then choose to print or save the map.
In the area called "My Mapblast" you are able to save maps, addresses, and trips for free, by registering with Mapblast. Another part of this site lets you create a map of a particular address by entering the post-code or street name. When this comes on screen you are able to zoom in or out for further details.
I find this a great site to visit and play creating holiday routes in this country and The United States, without having to buy expensive software.
