Ordered 15 DVD ROM drives, 1st they sent me someone else's order (a keyboard) then they sent me 15 HDD caddies and agreed to refund. Sent items back via post office with proof of postage as asked, 1 parcel (the keyboard) went missing now they refuse to pay me my £400 order value, as although the post office ticket shows 2 items, they say that how do they know I didn't split the DVDs over 2 boxes and return just that order. Last Monday was a frustrating morning. I had to go into the town centre and because I was there I decided to call on a hobby shop to see if they had some tools that I wanted. I have all the usual range of large power tools, drill etc. But I had a job to do that wanted small tools. I had to work in a very narrow space where a large power drill would not fit. I've purchased lots of different items from Maplin. From electrical components to Christmas gifts and gadgets. All the items I've received from Maplin, were received in perfect condition and not a fault with anything. And I've ordered items from very small to pretty big. A few times my deliveries have been delivered next day, even though they say within 3 working days. But those deliveries have been with Royal Mail. The Courier deliveries take ...

Maplin.co.uk has been very aggressive with its marketing and promotional offers and I regrettably made the mistake of being suckered into thinking that they provided quality electrical products at low prices. I purchased 3 items, rechargeable radio, remote controlled plane and a neon mp4 player all as gifts spending the best part of £200.The purchasing process is quick and efficient, as can be said of the delivery. Maplin is good provider of electronic items at competitive prices, their shops are great, however I fear they have used cheap and inadequate systems to run their online shop. Firstly their payment system is very unstable on one order it crashed on me about 5-6 time, claiming some type of server error. In the end I gave up that day and tried a couple of days later.
