I do not know how I first came across this site other than maybe one day I was messing around on the Nestle sites and found this by accident.

The site is really a free recipe book on line and it is totally free but it does advertise its own products and other associated products with the site but this is a great site and free.

If your like me, and used to microwave meals and when relatives come round am at a loss at what to do, then this site would be invaluable to you and your family.

The Website address is WWW.Meals.Com. It is a free site and you can get hundreds and hundreds of recipes from it.

So I decided to put the site to a test. First of all you can register with them and you get free vouchers for a range of products, some Nestle and some Butoni and other products. It took me around 1 minute to register and then found as I was not American or had a zip code I could not register. Would this mean that I could not use the site, lets see.

Well you can still use the site, so I have emailed them asking them why and I will let you all know once I find out the details.

Back to the site, When you first enter the site, it comes up with the most glorious pictures of food and the homepage is divided into like a recipe box with tabs on top, The sections at the moment are :-

1) Taste of Italy
2) Easy Family Favourites
3) Good for you
4) Special Occasions
5) Mexican Meals

As I scrolled down the page I also found a section for Childrens school dinners and the things they had in there were pasta dishes and also chicken dips and the idea was to promote food other than the conventional sandwhich. This is extremely useful and I could see myself using this for my own packed lunches.

Now these are only headings and you can print the recipe off the computer which is great as my computer is about 40 feet away from my kitchen. If you are registered you can store these away in your own recipe box which would be useful but unfortunately I cannot do this as I have no Zip code.

At the left hand side of the box is a search menu so come on take a look at it and lets play with it to see what it comes up with.

I pressed vegetarian and no other boxes and it came up with fajitas, tacos, salads, starters, deserts and biscuits.

I then thought right I have friends coming round for Dinner one night, I thought I want a 3 course meal that will take me less than an hour to prepare so in each case I ticked the under 25 mins box on each course.

Starter
~~~~~
Spicy tomato and Corn Soup
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prep time 7 mins
Cook time 5 mins

15 fl oz of Chicken Broth
2 Cups of Sweetcorn
2 Cups of Salsa
1 Chilli
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cheese

Serves 6

Put all the ingredients into a pan and boil and then when it has done this, turn it low for 5/6 mins stirring every so often.

Main Course
~~~~~~~~~~
Quick and Easy Chilli
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 25 mins

1lb Beef
2 Onions
2 Garlic Cloves
Tin of Kidney Beans
1 Cup of Salsa
2 tsp of chilli powder
1/2 tsp of Oregano and Cumin

Serves 8

Cook the beef and onion and then add the rest of the products and cook for 15 mins.

Desert
~~~~~~
Lemon Pudding
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cook Time 10 mins

1 Egg
1 Lemon peel
1/2 Can of Carnation Condensed Milk
1/2 Cup of Lemon Juice

Serves 8

Beat the egg till fluffy and light and add the peel and juice and then add the milk. Put it all into a saucepan and cook on a medium heat for 10 mins. The pour into serving bowls.

There you go a 3 course meal that only took 58 mins from start to finish.

They also have a Top 10 recipes and this includes Tacos and Fajitas and Chicken recipes.

I checked out some of the tabs at the top and found in Special Occasions, fudge, brownies, cookies and other treats.

I would recommend this site to anyone but as I stated before you will not get any money off vouchers as you cannot sign in but you can print off the recipes and you can review them if we can ever sign in.

    Will need to pay it a visit. Does it give you "weaning" recipes? I am on the look out for recipes to make instead of buying tins of baby food all the time. Re-rated with pleasure :-)
