Anyone looking for a job in the media, or even an insight into the big wide world of it, could do much worse than look here to begin with - mediauk.com.

Advantages: A decent media website... Disadvantages: ...but no better than that
...mind, and digitalspy.com being another. Mediauk.com is adequate though and does the job for those just browsing the industry rather than delving in deep.
The discussion board is something I've never really scoured in any depth, but has conversations with members about various things... 'watercooler' subjects if you will!
One good point to the site is that it lists the details of thousands of tv, radio and print companies. ... ...to be the 'bigger' companies, and then some will just list a company name and website, which may not work of course!! I've found it somewhat useful when looking up contact details, and advise people to look there first if searching for a website but can't find it instantly on Google.
So, the website does have it's downsides - it's not the most in-depth media website out there. It doesn't list ALL the jobs going out there, but then ... more

Operating since 1994, it lists current available jobs in radio, tv and print media, recent news articles on all these forms of media and a discussion board. Now being a graduate in a degree of this field of work, the jobs board has been an interest to me for quite a while...but don't expect to find work instantly. Anything but. Copious numbers of people view these adverts (you can see how many exactly in the job listings), but don't let that deter you of course - if you're good and experienced enough then you'll come across the job for you eventually.
The jobs listed usually just contain a small job description and contact details for where to send your cover letter and CV, but there are better websites out there to look for this kind of work...the BBC website is one that instantly springs to mind for BBC jobs, but expect a long-winded application process, and productionbase.co.uk is good for TV work, however that is a subscription based website so be wary of that.
The news feed section of the site gives industry news that has occurred in recent weeks, which again is usually plenty. Yet again though there are better websites - broadcastnow.co.uk is the first thing that comes to mind, and digitalspy.com being another. Mediauk.com is adequate though and does the job for those just browsing the industry rather than delving in deep.

One good point to the site is that it lists the details of thousands of tv, radio and print companies. Some will be in great detail - obviously most likely to be the 'bigger' companies, and then some will just list a company name and website, which may not work of course!! So, the website does have it's downsides - it's not the most in-depth media website out there. It doesn't list ALL the jobs going out there, but then again where does?! But it does provide an informative, free service that anyone can access. And in this world, that can only be a good thing!
Advantages: Easier to navigate, simpler to find subjects. Disadvantages: None.
There have been some slight changes to the Radio forum to slow down the amount of messages that have been put on that forum.
The radio forum has been split up into these seperate forums.
Radio-Chatter: For general radio based chat.
Radio-Jingles: For chat about radio jingles
Radio-Stations: For chat about a radio station.
Radio-DAB & Internet: For chat about digital radio & internet radio
Radio-Jobs: for postings for jobs in radio.

Advantages: Easy to navigate, Nice people, Sensible questions and answers, Nothing too technical. Disadvantages: The radio forum is very busy and can be difficult to keep up with the discussions.

The people that use these forums vary from Radio lovers to Producers and presenters of programmes.
