In my back bedroom I have a lovely bed frame in black, which I bought from Ikea when my daughter took me some years ago. I liked this when I saw it in the shop but it had to fit into between the wardrobes and although I measured it beforehand I must have done it wrong because when I got back home and I put it up I found it didnít fit properly and this is where the power tools I have came in handy. I had to use the angle grinder to cut off the footboard bit and half of the back head board because if I didnít it meant I couldnít get into the wardrobes or open the doors. This aggravated e because I had already paid for it and it was assembled before I realised what the problem was. I am handy though and I sorted this out.
The bed length is 208cm and it is 96cm high and 95 cm wide and it didnít come with its own mattress so I just use the one off the old bed and this was a little bit too short so then I had to go back and buy one of Ikeaís mattresses which cost me more money again. The frame did come with the bed slats though and these were hard for me to get right and to put in place but I managed.
I liked this bed because it can be used as a lovely settee in the day and a bed for the night though I donít use it as a settee as I have one downstairs and I just use it as my bed. It is very comfortable and I think it looks lovely to look at and I am very pleased with it. I paid £84 for it but a few weeks later I saw they had reduced it to half price and this was a shame and I wish I had waited a little bit longer before I had bought it.
My daughter helped me to put the bed together and it came with instructions which were terrible but we managed between the two of us and it came with all the screws and everything we needed. I did the angle grinding and sanding down on my own because this took longer than it did to put the bed together. I then bought a sliding pull out drawer from Ikea which I fitted nicely underneath the bed and I think this sets it off well.
I am very pleased with my lovely bed from Ikea and although it has half of the headboard and footboard missing I still think it looks lovely.
I recommend this to you.
