Since I am writing this 2 days before the final, I won't really predict
the teams who are going to contest Satuday's match. However, the
results of the games to date have been interesting.

The tournament has shown the extent of the demise of the West
Indies demise. It has also highlighted the considerable problems that
the West Indies will face when Ambrose and Walsh finally retire.
Dillion, McClean, Rose and King have looked mediocre and unable to
penetrate even Zimbabwe's weak batting line-up. Unless, they make
dramatic improvements, and quick, then it is unimaginable what
trouble the West Indies will find themselves in.

England have excelled to date, and their recent form suggests that
they may become a formidable one-day side in a few years time.
The bowling, which has been consistently outstanding over the last
few years, has got even better, with all five bowlers in impressive
form. The batsmen have finally repaid the bowlers who they have
consistently let down in the past. The form of the young batsman
Flintoff and Trescothick has been impressive, and Stewart and
Thorpe are beginning to play to their abilities. The only concern
must be the average age of the squad which is over 30, and maybe
it is time to get some younger players integrated into the side.

In Saturday's final I can only see England winning. Although
Zimbabwe work hard and most of their players are experienced
one-day players, the obvious superior quality of England's players,
especially the bowlers, should show.
