Introduction ~~
Having your own little space on the net has became the trend over the past few years and but when you add up the cost of the domain name and hosting the grand total is not cheap. So why not give Moonfruit a chance? It lets you have a professional and sleek looking website for absolutely free.

The Website ~~
To create a moonfruit website you need to register with moonfruit. You have to include the usual, address, postcode, etc. You then have the choice of using a template for your website - there are loads of different templates or just leaving you're website blank and choosing the wallpaper, fonts, etc manually. You then have to enter the moonfruit web address that you would like. A moonfruit web address is www.username.moonfruit.com which is quite good for a free website some free websites tend to be domains like www.freewebsite/homeuser.html/movies/use​rjoebloggs or something along those lines.
Once you have registered and chosen your templates or whether to leave your website blank you have to add webpages and obviously enter text onto them. To do this you simply click a menu that automatically comes up when you are logged in and start typing on the requested webpage. To add more pages you click the management button at the bottom of your website. The different type of webpages that you can add are:
· Link - places a link to another webpage in your site's menu bar.
· Page - A page to which you can add images, links, widgets (I'll explain later) and text.
· Forum - A discussion feature. Add topics which can be replied to again and again.
· News - Used to post articles that are dated and stamped chronologically. ]
· Events - a calendar feature where events can be displayed by day, month and year.
· Directory - A database where you can specify the fields and add images and links.

Now about that widget business I said that I'd explain. Well a widgets are programmes/downloads specially designed for use on Moonfruit websites. You can download them off www.widgets.moonfruit.com. The widgets are groovy little downloads that spice up your website. They vary from being a cartoon scratching DJ to graffiti paint pads.
Unfortunately Moonfruit is rather limited in many aspects and does not have the features that a proper website will have in that I mean one where you pay for a domain name and pay for hosting. I say this because you cannot place ad banners on your website only moonfruit have the privilege of that though I suppose they do have to make they're money somehow. Though there are more limitations than that on Moonfruit - for starters its pretty slow and secondly it is impossible to make the site look very professional and business like as the Moonfruit logo is splashed all over the your website.
Overall if you want a free website that is simple, easy to build and one that looks pretty classy look no further than Moonfruit. It outclasses all other free websites though no free websites really live up to proper HTML websites.
