Not knowing anything about html, or hosts etc, it was a great product for me. Easy to use if you have no idea what you are doing. You get your own domain name with a .co.uk or .com or .org .net etc which is registered to you, and as lobng as you keep up your membership is yours to keep.
If you do have ... ...in html yourself.
you can choose the layout to your site, the colours, upload pictures etc
I have never experienced any time when my site was not available to view, and i have found its speed as a visitor to be the same as other sites, not slow at all.

I have had a mr site website for a year now. I havent used it to promote a business, just to develop a site that i have made as a hobby. Not knowing anything about html, or hosts etc, it was a great product for me. Easy to use if you have no idea what you are doing. You get your own domain name with a .co.uk or .com or .org .net etc which is registered to you, and as lobng as you keep up your membership is yours to keep. If you do have a better idea about making sites, you can write it in html yourself. you can choose the layout to your site, the colours, upload pictures etc I have never experienced any time when my site was not available to view, and i have found its speed as a visitor to be the same as other sites, not slow at all. It offers a variety of extras like a shopping cart if you are running a business site, a forum and a guest book etc. You are also allocated quite a few email addreses to the site for your use which is very handy if you want to seperate any communication that you recieve. This is also easy to set up to recieve in an email program eg outlook. To update your site is easy, you simply log in, change what you need to and republish. This is done in the space of a few seconds. You can of course take your site down for a longer maintenance if you need to. Using a mr site website also works well with other tools available like google anylitics and adsence. You just put the code they give you on to the pages of your site. As far as support goes, if you email them they do respond after a day or so, although i have never had reason to use the telephone help. The forum which they had for support was removed some time ago, and has never reapeared - it says its down for maintanence This is a real shame as it was in my oppinion, easier to get support from other users than them themselves, as your answers came quicker. Luckily some users of mr site have created their own help forum for members at www.aboutmrsite.com (not hosted by mr site!) The worst thing i have come across was the forum which you can add to your site. I did this and it was very very poor. You couldnt follow a thread at all, and it was just a very messy looking thing, that looked more like a guest book. I have had to look elsewhere to host my forum, and have had to set a link from my main site to it. If i was going to start a small business, i wouldnt use mrsite, purely because i believe other hosts will enable you to make your site look more proffesional. I know alot of people do run their business from mrsite, and i know they have success. They dont put any advertising on your website, except a very small line of text at the bottom saying that the site was created at mrsite, which is a clickable link. This is so small however, im sure most people dont notice it. Any other advertising you place there yourself. My website has just been renewed - and it has cost me £35 for the next year. I am happy to pay this as it is just a hobby, and i am having a lot of sucess with what i am doing. If it cost anymore than this i dont think i would continue to use mr site - or possibly not run a site anymore. To sumarise, i think this is fantastic for anyone who doesnt have the first clue about creating a site, as it is straight forward to use, and you can have it up and running quickly, but should be thought about carefully and other sites viewed to see what the sites look like and what can be done with them before you set up an important or business site.
Advantages: incredibly cheap hosting Disadvantages: you get what you pay for
mrsite is great for anyone who doesnt know anything about the internet because it is (fairly) easy to set up your own website.... however your site will be on a server shared by several thousand other websites so it is inevitably slow. and the mrsite templates do not use valid html and so there are regular cross-browser errors.
and there is alot of "down time" in the last few months several sites have been offline for as much as a week. this is ... ...only 1 hour of down time a YEAR!
and you can not use any of the extra features like site stats, guestbook, forum, shopping cart, ect if you use your own html.
and they promise there will be no advertisin on your site unless you put it there. This is not true as they advertise MrSite on everypage of every user's sites that are hsoted with them.
the support is also poor. so much so that users have had to resort to helping eachother out since mrsite ...
