Disadvantages: It looks like lots of other indie movies.

That being said, it falls very much within the purview of American independent filmmaking with its anonymous locations, scruffily dressed protagonists, talky script and a cast of recognisable but not famous faces. It Spirited ME Away !

Advantages: Fantastic Film
Disadvantages: Nothing what so ever

...SPIRITED AWAY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another magnificent fun film from the incredible Hayao Miyazaki. Chihiro and her parents move to a new town and Chihiros new school. Upon arriving they get a little lost and end up in an old run down theme type park which is very spooky and more than a little bizarre. Chihiro spots little spirit houses in the undergrowth and strange carved stones in the woods. They all decide to explore the park, although Chihiro is a little reluctant, the park is colourfully painted if quite rundown. They come across a deserted yet delicious smelling food stall and decide to tuck in but Chihiro has a bad feeling about the park and holds back. Instead she goes of to explore by herself and this is where the movie really takes off?.. Night falls quickly and the park begins to light up by itself and dark shadowy...

Cast Away

Advantages: tom hanks, great acting, beautiful scenery, very moving
Disadvantages: long runtime, though that's not a disadvantage!

...Some people mistake Cast Away for the British reality TV program 'Castaway'. No way, reality TV is arguably rubbish, but this film is a shining masterpiece, equal parts amazing acting, superb direction and beautiful camerawork. The film follows the tale of Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland, a busy and important man in the 'FedEx Family'. His work obliges him to travel far and wide at the drop of a hat, providing motivational speeches for FedEx employees in far-flung reaches of the globe. He enjoys his work, and has a girlfriend and family he really loves, so inevitably, it all goes wrong. Noland is in a FedEx aircraft that goes down in flames, and washes up alone on a deserted island somewhere in the South Pacific. This makes the film somewhat unusual, as Noland is the only human character on-screen for much of the movie, an acting feat...

Away From Her

Advantages: Superb performances, warm direction that focuses not purely on the weepy side of the plot
Disadvantages: Slightly depressing, not exactly a crowd pleaser

Spirited Away: Let's be spirited away!

Advantages: Great storyline, voice actors, artwork and soundtrack.
Disadvantages: None. Might be scary for younger viewers.

Spirited Away is about a young girl (Chihiro) who follows her parents into this deserted 'theme park' when night falls, strange creatures roam the place and Chihiro tries to leave but discover her parents have been turned into pigs for eating the spirit's food! She is then put to work at the bath house there so then she might be able to find a way to save her parents, with the help of the spirits who work there and Haku, a boy who feels familiar to her, she tries to leave the place she has been spirited away to. The movie's graphics are well done, facial expressions are drawn in detail and the movement of the characters are fluid. Something fans of cartoons and anime will most definitely enjoy, I...

Flakes Away

...Flakes Away Soap and Glory Flake Away is the latest product I have tried from the fabulous Soap and Glory range. Soap and Glory is one of my favourite beauty ranges. I had tried just about all their other products in the range but had not tried this one until now. Soap and Glory was created by Marcia Kilgore (who also created the Bliss range) back in 2006 so it hasn't been around for long but it sure has been a big hit. What I love about it is the quirky, funky packaging which to me is quite retro. It includes pictures of housewives from the 50's and 60's which give the range a very retro feel and also has a lot of tongue in cheek product names which make them really fun products in my opinion. I like the fact that on their website they put the phrase, "We believe that you shouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg just to moisturise one...

...Until a few weeks ago I had not actually heard of Soap and Glory. It was actually my friend (yes, the same one who has me addicted to Lush products now too!) was talking about their range, and I was totally clueless. Though since then I have sampled some of their beauty products, and I must say, I have been quite impressed! One of the products is the Soap and Glory Flake Away body scrub, which works on flaky skin (!). This can be recognised by its circular plastic tub, which is a pale baby pink shade. On the top there is the soap and glory logo, with the instructions for use written in a circle around it. This is definitely much more fun than boring block directions! There are a few of the Soap and Glory products which have a similar packaging, but this one can be identified specifically by a large label on the side saying 'Flake Away...

People who have dry skin and find that the perfume doesn't have particularly good staying power on them would benefit from using the complimentary Body spray, talc, shower gel or moisturiser before applying the perfume as this would gave the scent a base to layer itself upon therefore increasing the longevity of the perfume fragrance. All peoples skin types are different and perfumes, body lotions, shower gels etc act differently on each individual because of the different oils in our skin.
