I bought a Daewoo Nexia Gli

Disadvantages: too many to list

...In Septemder 1996 I bought a nexia gli from the daewoo dealers in Telford what a huge mistake that was,I am disabeld so my car is very important to me, i had heard that the daewoo was a good buy and that you get a lot for your money. My advise would be to any potential Purchaser would be DONT BUY IT. The sales people were very good and did a very through Job,ie 3yrs free servicing 3yrs free aa cover. The car is quite comfortable to drive. not very good on petrol consumption,5000 miles I needed new tyres, 15000 a new exhaust,regular servicing did not prove very good at all ,the helfulness from Daewoo was none exsistant after i had bought the car, 41/2 yrs down the line and six months still to pay 18500 miles I have a leaking cylinder head gasket,My big end is gon,this car now sound's like a bag of nails, wont pull up the smalest...

Not as bad as some might say...

Advantages: All the mod cons, spacious, cheap insurance.
Disadvantages: Not a lot of street cred, no passenger airbag.

glxi 4 door saloon 97' is the best

Advantages: Large boot, resonsive and perky engine, reliability
Disadvantages: Poor support, no manual (well there is but its £120!!!!)

...Well I have to say I love my nexia to bits. Also mine doesn't look as drab because I have a fitted rear spoiler and mine came with matallic racing green, which does help its image crisis somewhat! Kinda looks like a subaru actually but definitely doesn't look as drab as the 95 hatchbacks. OK to the nitty gritty. I can only speak about my car, which has done 33k and is 97' (R reg) and a glxi saloon not the hatch back. Reliability has been superb. Unfortunately my radio/extening aerial has just failed, but I think it's something to do with the crazy amounts of rain we've had in the last few weeks! Anyway, its never failed me. It's first mot with me it failed due to a dodgy steering joint that cost £11 to fix! Also the hand break was a little loose but I managed to do this on my own. Think we just had bad luck

Advantages: good little family car huge boot for all that shopping
Disadvantages: too many things

...one it cost £160. After this had been fitted it still broke down! THE TROUBLE NEVER ENDS Now we were faced with having to get a loan and get a reliable car, but still used the deawoo as a run around (short journeys). The Nexia decided to present me with a new problem one evening by loosing power when traveling uphill, i had just pulled up to the house when it stopped with rather sudden jolt. Mobile mechanic came out again to then inform me that 2 valves had gone and would need to strip engine down to fix problem, estimated cost £500 . Well the car wasnt even worth that so we cut our losses and had sell it on, but after alot of ringing around no-one wanted it, so it ended up being scrapped. UPSIDE AND DOWNSIDE TO A NEXIA Deawoo's back then, as i don't know about the newer ones' , parts were reasonably cheap as vaxhaull parts...

Snap Happy

Advantages: Good value basic APS zoom camera
Disadvantages: Long shutter delay, not very powerful zoom

...I'm not saying my old camera was ancient, but it was made of wood. Actually it wasn't quite that bad - it was just that every time I took a photo it made a big clunk and whirring sound, as you could hear it struggling to advance the film. Whenever I went into Boots I saw these lovely little silver cameras all reasonably priced, so I decided to buy one so that I would be less embarrassed taking snaps on my next holiday. I finally settled for the Fujifilm Nexia 220ix, which cost a bargainiferous £50 from Dixons. It weighs in at 193g - this is about the same weight as a normal-sized tube of tomato puree (I have checked!). As you can see from the picture it is silver and looks quite nice. My Invaluable Travelling Companion

Advantages: Robust, Impressive Zoom and Stunning Results
Disadvantages: Not the smallest, lightest or most attractive APS camera available
