...Robin Williams Introduction I watched this show with my brother and a friend all of whom are in our 30?s. We certainly were very well entertained. I also recommended this to my younger sister who also found his jokes very amusing. This is perhaps not the type of program that I could recommend to my parents who are in their 60?s, although I am sure they would laugh at the jokes, they would be slightly put off by the swearing contained on this show. The staging of this show is at the DAR Constitution Hall which is in Washington DC, America. Robin Williams...as a woman

...I must say that I was impressed by the way that the producers of this movie managed to produce such a genuinely heart-warming and humorous comedy against a rather dark backdrop with divorce as the major thematic feature. Robin Williams, as usual, excelled in his comical acting and I was in total admiration in front of the acting of Sally Field and the children. I have been watching this movie ever since I was a child and I still watch it all over again. This is because it is the sort of movie which will really tug at your heart-strings and make you cry both with laughter and sadness at times. ROBIN HOOD'S BAY

...I've always wondered why Robin Hood's Bay was in North Yorkshire and not in Nottinghamshire. One explanation might be that Nottinghamshire, being landlocked, is not over-endowed with bays. Another is the sheer logistics of moving it from one county to another. Robin Hood's Bay is around 5 miles south of Whitby, and some 15 miles north of Scarborough on the North Sea coast of North Yorks. I've researched a little, and I can find no explanation of why this place has such an interesting name - it doesn't matter anyway. There are records dating back from 1536, apparently, of a small settlement of around 50 houses and 20 fishing boats but nothing about its namesake. Besides, the locals prefer to call it Bay Town. There may be some tenuous connection to the 'Prince of Thieves' though. Fishing has always been the mainstay of this...

Splitting Sides with Mr Williams

Advantages: Laughter Laughter and more laughter
Disadvantages: It can get quite hard to breath between the laughter

...Here's a DVD that you can watch a hundred times and still miss something. Mr Williams is quick quirky and fast to shoot from the mental hip. Robin Wiliams was, is and always will be a comedian. He cannot do an interview for longer than five seconds without getting a comedic word in edgewise. In this DVD he does not disappoint. Take the ten best comedians you know and squeeze them onto a single DVD, and you have Robin Williams Live. He tells more jokes than most, he tells them faster and with more enthusiasm than a barrelful of monkiers. What surprises me the most is that not many people are completely aware of his comedic genius, after watching Dead Poets Society and the Fisher King. He is, by no exaggeration, a genius and proves it with skit after skit. Expect him to cross the line though, he is not a safe individual...

Robin Williams - the best!

Advantages: The film will be a classic
Disadvantages: Don't watch if you don't like anti-war films

...What can you say about a Robin Williams film except - Brilliant!! Good Morning Vietnam is about an air force DJ, moved from Creete to entertain the troops within the early half of the Vietnam War. Never over sentimental, the storyline mixes William's wit and skill in ab-libbing with sensitivity. The anti-war message is clear and although the film was one of many anti-Vietnam films that cropped up in the late eighties, the format appeals to a wider audience because of William's ease at introducing his character and his ability to act with emotion and humour - almost within the same breath! Without doubt, the film will end up a classic anti-war film....

Plodding Robin Williams Vehicle

Advantages: Some neat monologues
Disadvantages: Ridiculous story

...How much is Good Morning Vietnam merely a tour de force performance by Robin Williams or how much is it a well rounded complete anti-war film. Sadly my view it is too much just a vehicle for Williams style of delivery and frankly the remainder is very average stuff. Williams plays Adrian Cronauer who s a Radio DJ for the US Armed Forces who is sent to Vietnam in 1965 at the height of the conflict. This is not to say that the set-piece monologues delivered by Williams are not funny, clever, biting, satirical and poignant. They are but we also have frankly absurd arguments with superiors and when the character has a relationship with a local Vietnamese girl and befriends her brother then the film descends to parody. Cronauer is seen as an irreverent loose cannon by his superiors who inevitably ask him to refrain from the critical...

My New Addiction - Robin Hood?

Advantages: Dramatic, Good Acting, Fantastic Soundtrack, Brilliant Plot!
Disadvantages: Would have loved more Special Features :(

...is actually exceptionally caring and loyal to Robin and the outlaws. I really enjoy Troughton playing him, you may recognise him from 'Vera Drake' and 'Alien Vs Predator'. William Beck - Plays Little John's 'apprentice' who is learning the trade of being an outlaw. I was able to recognise him straight away from the film 'Snatch' in which he played Neil. Really enjoyed watching him in Robin Hood and is a well experienced actor who I expect we will be seeing in bigger projects in the near future. Episode List Will You Tolerate This?
