HOW DO I SIGN UP?
There are 5 required fields to complete ? email address, password, first name, surname and Country, as well as various optional fields such as age, gender, income and your mobile phone number.
Once you filled all this in and clicked on OK a confirmation code is emailed to you. When I signed up this email arrived immediately. All you have to do with the email is click on the link to confirm your MTNSMS account and choose yourself a password.
THE MTNSMS UNIVERSE
This is the main core of the website and is where you are able to navigate through the various functions and facilities of the website.
SETUP - this is where you can change your profile. FORUMS - an area where you can chat to others OUTBOX - this is where any messages that you have sent are stored until you delete them. INBOX - these are the messages sent to you. VISION - the MTNSMS values: 1. we r all connected 2. less is more 3. now is the only moment
WORLD - facts about MTNSMS such as member size and the number of SMS sent on the last 24 hours PARTNER NETWORKS - the different phone networks which are able to use the service from around the world - all major UK networks are accepted. FRIENDS - Send a message to someone in your phone book. TELL A FRIEND - send an email to a friend telling them about the MTNSMS service ADD A FRIEND - add a friend to you phone book.
DOES THE SERVICE WORK? So far I have managed to register and add a few friends to my phone book. I have sent a message from their site (to my own mobile to see if it works) and I am yet to receive it. The website does however say they are having some difficulties so if I do receive it I?ll update my opinion and let you all know.

I came across mtnsms.com a short while back, and have been impressed with the service offered, which is the ability to send free SMS messages worldwide.
You need to register to use the service; I have been a member for 6 weeks at time of typing, and to date I haven’t received junk spam or SMS as a result of this. This is always a good indicator of whether you’d want to give a company your info I think. Once registered, you can sign in, ... ...on log in to avoid having to enter your password every time. Inside you can set up SMS contacts, as though the site was a web based email server. In a way the site goes one step towards this, as recipients of your texts can reply directly to your mtnsms account! A very nifty service indeed! Advantages: Fast, friendly, fun, and most importanatly...FREE!! Disadvantages: The site is often being worked on so can cause delays.
...found such a site in mtnsms.com and haven't looked back since! It has so much more to offer than any of the other SMS sites I have tried before (and believe me, that is a lot!!) This is a site that you must first of all register to. This takes a quite a bit of time as they want a lot of details but is well worth it.
One of the many advantages of this is that you do not have to remember any of your friend's mobile numbers as you enter them into the ... ...want to send them a message is to simply click on their name!! This saves a lot of time, trust me!!
The site also has an amazing inbox and outbox feature so that you can check whether or not your message has been recieved or not. Due to the inbox facility, your friends can also reply to your messages and their replies go into your inbox!! This means that I can go onto ANY computer, at home, colege or work, log in to mtnms.com and see if my freinds ...

mtnsms.com is an SMS gateway, offering free text messaging via the internet. I was originally attracted by the fact that they offer one of the highest character counts per message at 144 out of 160 (some only give you 107 or so!) although other providers do concatenated SMS messages, where longer ones are split into multiple messages. The other thing that I found positive was that they list useage figures, so that you can see how popular the service ... ...24 million SMSes sent in the last month, and 13,000 new members in the last 24hours.
Furthermore there are currently 208 networks in 85 countries that ae supported by the service, although there were a few surprise omissions, with A1 Austria's second business network with around 2.5m customers missing. Ever wanted to send free sms from the internet to a mobile phone free? Well you can get one at mtnsms.com! Although there are others such as genie and lycos that are more popular but this also does the job!
First of all you sign up using you email address and then you choose your own password! If you forget the password at any stage you can request it to be emailed to you. Once you have signed up you are now ready to send free SMS to mobiles in ... ...is a text message that can be received by mobile phones!
You can even create a friends list so that it remembers the numbers for you so it is like a address book so it is easier when sending multiple messages! You can write your own message of up to 124 characters! You must include the international format for example +44 in the UK. ...lycos etc...) I have found mtnsms.com and loved it ever since. It has all the features I would expect and I can find little to fault it for what it does.
You register your own account with your email address and a password, and can then make a list of friends and phone numbers which you can access from anywhere. Once logging on to the site you then just select your friend from the list (or type a number in direct), type your message and send! There ... ...your message is sent you can track it. The site records every message you send with a date and time and tells your wether it has been received or not, or if it has failed.
When your message is received the phone user has the option to reply. This works from all networks except Vodafone (but don't quote me on that) and the messages pop into your inbox on the website. The site tells you on every page if there are any new messages waiting for you.
