Imagine the situation. On the following Monday you have that important interview out of town and you know how to get to the town but you have no idea how to get to the actual place of the interview. You know the address and post code but that it is all. It looks like a trip to the local bookshop is called for in the hope that they have a street map of the area that you want but they don’t have one.
Fear not, all is not lost because if you are reading this you have access to the Internet and therefore access to www.multimap.co.uk.
You are greeted with a pleasant looking home page welcoming you and offering you travel directions to wherever you want to go on mainland Great Britain including the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Anglesey and the inner Scottish islands.
This is the place where all your road travel arrangements can be solved not just by showing you the route to take but taking you right to the door of your destination, by providing streets maps of the required area and beyond.
In the centre of the screen is a small map of Great Britain and wherever you click on this map it will take you to that area. But the simplest way is by typing in the postcode of the place that you seek in the box below will do exactly the same. If you don’t know the postcode then the address will do just fine. But it’s not enough to just type in the street the town must be named as well.
The streets map that comes up will be roughly 2km by 1km and clicking on the map you can zoom in or you can pan in all directions using the arrows provided. The area governed by the postcode will be ringed in red so that you know the location even if the initial map doesn’t label the street because it is too small to have its name printed in. Naturally you can print out your map and it is free to the user.
There is much more to this site than detailed above and the best way for the reader to find out is to go and discover for him/herself just what is on offer. Your road travel problems are on the way to being solved.
