Advantages: Offer some OK money on more unusual items, good customer service Disadvantages: Can take ages to get money
Musicmagpie.co.uk is a website where you can sell any unwanted CD's or DVD's. How it works is that you enter on their site the barcode for the CD or DVD and they give you a price for the disc which ranges from roughly £0.30 - £3.00 depending on the disc. Once you have 8 discs you wish to sell to them you can submit your order. Musicmagpie will send you a postage sticker, you package the discs and send them back using the repaid postage. Assuming ... ...they send a cheque in the post for the total amount. To date, I have 3 orders with musicmagpie and can offer a mixed report on them all. The first thing I will say about the service, is that this is not quick money, especially given the postage strike. The labels take around a week to arrive in my experience and then, because they are the lowest speed of mail, the package can take forever to reach the destination, and likewise for you to receive ...

Advantages: A great way to clear the clutter Disadvantages: The cheque took a while to arrive
I recently purchased a hard drive external to my laptop that holds upwards of 100,000 songs... One small box instead of the two huge chests of drawers in my living room seems an ideal compromise and I have been burning all of my CDs onto iTunes, which then gave me the dilemma of dealing with all of the CDs and how to get rid of them...I didnt want to give them away and I am not sure that I have the energy to do a Sunday morning carboot sale! My mum ... ...a look. The site was very easy to navigate and you have to just type in the bar code found on the back of the product. You do have to make sure that you type in the full barcode though - including the small numbers to the far left and right. The site keeps a list of all the products you put in and also gives you a price and running total...what I liked about it too was that it told you if they wanted the product straight away or not...in some instances ...

Advantages: money given for old CDs Disadvantages: all discs and boxes must be in perfect condition, low prices given for DVDs
This website is handy for getting rid of old CDs, DVDs or computer games which you will never use again. I had some really old CDs - Steps, Five and S Club 7 (yes, I had appalling taste in music when I was younger) and thought this would be a good way to make a few extra pennies whilst clearing out some junk.
Registration was easy and the next step was to type in the bar codes on the back of the CDs. The minimum price I got for a CD was 30p which ... ...to pay someone to take that Five album off my hands! The highest price I got offered was 50p. I also typed in some barcodes for DVDs but when I got offered 30p each for these I didn't think it was worth selling them. The downside to this site is that all CDs must be in perfect condition and boxes should not be cracked but it will allow some superficial scratches. Luckily for me my CDs although embarrassing, were in excellent condition. You should ...

Advantages: easy to use, good layout Disadvantages: some trade prices not to good
we are now in an age where everything is digital, and we are left with piles and stacks of films, games, and music gathering dust. If like me you then decide to put them on aution sites, but are left dissappointed by the lack of interest, and are left with no choice to carboot them and get pittence? Now this has all changed with this great little website, which is so simple to use. This site basically gives you money for all your unwanted music, ... ...article of course. all you need to do is log on and enter the bar codes of your cds, dvds, games, and within a matter of seconds music magpie will offer you a trade price. If you agree they will send out free post stamps and you send out your trades, and within a few weeks you will receive a cheque for the said amount.
This is a fantastic site to make a quick bit of cash, some trades do seem a bit low, but when you weigh it up in bulk trades I find ...
