Okay i have never reviewed a website before and i am now going to try and give it a whirl.
Last night i was browsing the internet, whilst looking for different things to do to help me with my writing skills, and just general stuff to tackle plain old boredom. This is when i came across a site called myLot, i'm not sure who i found it but i did and i am really chuffed that i did as it seems to have a lot to offer me.
I have only been a member for less than 24 hours, but the site seems ok and like i said has a lot to offer, so i thought i would share my experience with the site with you all, as i know some of you enjoy writing review and earning a few pennies along the way.
Registering
This process only takes a few miutes and is pretty much like signing up to Dooyoo, Just pick a username, password and enter the usual details. I have the same user name on there.
What the site is about.
The site is a bit like Dooyoo, instead of writing reviews though you can write blogs, join in disscussions and write about your intrests.
Discussions.
On the site there are may discussions to join and put your thoughts and ideas across. This is bit like going into a forum where poeple make a post and you can reply by making a comment. You can also start your own discussion and have people post there comments. Also like Dooyoo you can also rate other peoples posts (i am not sure if you earn from ratings though). It also works out the more you type the more you earn so you so a longer comment would generate better revenue than a short post.
Blogs.
I haven't writen a blog on there yet, but i am assuming that most of you know what a blog is.
A blog is where you can write about your thoughts, intrests, opinions or about pretty much anything you like, to add your blog to mylot all you do is go to the blog section and click on add blog on the left hand side. This is where you will put in your blog title, feed URL, viewing URL. You also have something called an upload aviatar where you can upload a picture with your blog, one you have done this you can then pick the frequencey you would like your blog to be polled starting from 5 minutes to 24 hours, there are a few more time options inbetween. This feature can be useful for some members as you are not allowed to past referal links in any of the discussions, but i have noticed that there are some in the blogs that i have read.

Intrests.
Again this feature basically leads you back to the discussions. There is a feature in you home page and in the top tabs that you can access and pick your intrests.
When you click on the intrest tab you will be taken to a page with a few headings on like music so on ..... see the blog listing i think they are the same. It is hear that you can pick all the things you like to discuss, blog and read about. when you have picked what you like out of the bunch ( for instance cat's, bands, hobbies) it will place a small thumb nail picture on your intrest page, so you can find the topics you like easy.
Other Features.
Messaging
Again like Dooyoo you have the option to pivate message people, unlike some sites that have guestbooks. This is very easy to do as there is a tab at the top along with everything else. Once you click it you have the options on the left hand side again, to compose your message and send it to other users, unread messages and so on .... i think you all get the message it's like most mail boxes.
Profile
Yes you get your own profile like on any other site you come across, but it does have a feature hat Dooyoo doesn't (not that i have noticed anyway). You can change the colors of your homepage to some that suits you better, it also has a good colour range some you are bound to find something.
This might be a little scary if you have never changed a colour on a blog before or used the system they do. As you have to pick the colours by footing, header, boarder and any other part that makes your page up including text. By entering the colour code you have picked.
But lease dont be put off by this as it is simple to do, even i can manage it.
Homepage / profile
On here you have a box on the left hand side that has information links such as your friends, messages, discussion, blogs and earnings in.
To the middle and right hand side is taken up by your home profile page, this has your activities on. This will show you what you have been upto on the site like discussions you last visited and intests you have added.
On this page you also have your friends list ( abit like myspace) with thumb nails alsong with your intrests.
you can also add sections that contain discussions you have started, friends comments and your intrests ranking.
Earnings
Right this is where my review starts to really suck, as earnings are updated every 24 hours and i haven't been a member hat long, so i can't tell you yet (but i will update and let you know) but i will tell you what i know.
I didn't know this untill i had registered with the site, that it is american and that you get paid in dollars. I also found out that you are payed through paypal or moneybookers account only.
You are paid monthly and can choose to set you earning limit at $10, $25, $50 or $100 before you are paid.
I have also noticed that the earnings are not calculated like on Dooyoo, you don't get paid a set price for posting. Instead i do believe that your earning are work out by using a algorithm system, which was put in place by the really brainy maths people. This system will work out and calculate earnings and is very clever it can figure out who's posts, comments and writing is worth more than others.
An algorithm is a system that works out problems to a set rule, and are used in card counting machines ect ect... The mathematician's who created this one (i don't know to much about algorithms)has based it on data stucture.
As the earnings you see in your account ae an estimate, and you will not find out the exact fighure untill you are paid. So your payments could be a little higher or lower than you thought or the same. This is because the estimate and go of the previous months earnings, whilst the machines and myLoters work out who really earned what.
But don't be put of by this fact as i'm not, it just means for people who abuse there system or try and attempt to out smart there system, don't get paid and booted of the site. ( yes you always get a few).
Also if you don't have a paypal or moneybookers account they will direct you to the site so that you can open one.

Update.
Okay it has been a few weeks since i have joined the site now, and i have published few articles / comments and made $0.21.
But i do think that my low earning's are to do with the fact that i spend most of the free time i have on dooyoo and a few other site's. Maybe i should pull my finger out and try to put in a little more effort.
So overall i like the site but, but just don't have much time
Advantages: Reward for posting in discussions Disadvantages: Can get quite boring, pay can be quite slow.
I joined myLot about 8/9 months ago. I came across the site while looking through sites that one can earn money online.
myLot is a forum-like site on which you can write in and participate in discussions and get an incentive for your activity on the site.
I signed up, it's free to sign up and members need to be 16 and over and it is open to residents from all countries.
Signing up is pretty easy, you just need an email address and you create a ... ...course)
There's been an update to the site since I joined so I will describe it in the newer version.
Looking round the site, you can add 'interests' that you wish to participate in and these really range greatly from 'making money' ,'work', 'life', 'travel' to 'parenting' and many many more...name it, it's there. There's so many interests to add that even till now, I am yet to look into all of them!:)

Mylot is a pay to chat Forum and I have been a member for three months.
The actual payment per post is dubious. It could be as much as 3 American cents or as little as a cent and nobody is really quite sure.
Admin will tell you that it depends on your overall participation of the site and there is a fair bit of participating going on judging by the 900,000 and rising members.
So what are you paid for?.............................................
... ...that you wish to discuss with everyone. They can be in any form but must be proper discussions and not just a single word or two word question.
People will hopefully respond to your discussion and when you have 10 or more responses,you will earn per response.
There is no fixed amount.
Secondly you can respond to others discussions.

Whenever I find out about a new site, I really try to break it down to its simplest elements so I can understand it well. So in my mind, MyLot is pretty much like Yahoo! Answers except you get paid for participating, which obviously is bonus incentive to join there! MyLot is a questions and answers forum where people can discuss anything - politics, how to set up WiFi on their PSP, what fast food they enjoy most, and so on. Like I said earlier, its ... ...respond to others. What you earn basically comes from how many people view and respond to your question, and also from the questions you reply to. Basically, from the money the site earns from advertising, they split it up amongst the topic creator and those who post so everyone gets a fraction of the earnings which really turns out to be pennies. When I first stumbled upon myLot, I couldn't believe my luck.
A site that actually paid you to just talk!
You can talk about almost anything, religion life,money,Hamlet, the list is endless. I thought there must be a catch!
There is. It's a painstaking process from start to finish.
Setting up your account.
It's free to register and remains free the whole time. You have to pick from a huge list of interests to add to your profile. It's a loathsome ... ...choose.
If something is of an interest to you, you can "add" it by pressing the "add an interest" button and writing it there.
Every single interest I tried to add was not available.
Discussions.
You can participate in any discussion available to view or you can start your own from the list of your interests. The more people respond, the more money you get.
If you start a discussion that gets 25 responses, you will get more money than if you ...
