I couldn't believe it 5 weeks self catering in Portugal for £51 each. We didn't know which resort we would be in never mind which apartments. So we were a little aprehensive. Would we be staying in a hut on the beach. But no when we arrived at our apartments there on the wall by the door was a plaque with 4 stars on it. We were so surprised. We thought there must be a catch. What was the room going to be like. The Rooms were great a really decent size A separate bedroom and the kitchen and bathroom well equipped and lovely and clean. The furniture in the rooms was a good quality. The maids came in every day to clean. All this for £51 each for 5 weeks. This was just after 9-11 but even now you can get holidays at a snip. You need to visit the web site regularly and you can hit on some real bargains. You have to remember not to bid too early leave it until the last minute and then bid the £20 extra plus £1 or £2 over that so that if anyone bids the exact price plus £20 you will beat their price and win the holiday. If you are able to go pretty much straight away you can really come away with a bargain. The Site is really easy to navigate. The best place for low cost holidays is the Auction page. That lists Holidays from £1 and then lists holidays in different parts of the world. Click on the place you want to go to and then you will go to a page with the holidays available on Auction. The price so far is clearly shown and the date of departure and the date the auction finishes. It also tells you what airport they go from. Click on the holiday that appeals to you and then you are on the bid page. They tell you a little more about the holiday, and then there is a button to press to bid but as I said before leave this until right at the last minute. If you are successful they email you and let you know. Then they phone you the next day to complete the details. To bid you have to register all your details including an up to date credit/debit card.
