My Voice is a privately owned British company specialising in online market research company. Their website address is www.myvoice.co.uk. My Voice claims to have over 100,000 UK members and is a company offering paid online surveys and polls. Rewards are given in points, and one point is the equivalent of 1p. However, you can only cash in your points when you have 2,000 of them. At this stage, you can exchange your points for a £20 voucher at most of UK high street stores (i.e. Debenhams, WH Smith, Amazon, Tesco, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer, Boots, House of Fraser, Dixons and so).
** REGISTRATION ** To join you need to be 18 or over and a UK resident (overseas members can join, but unless they have a UK address, they can only donate their points to charity). My Voice will give you your first 50 Points "free" for joining. Registration is simple - you choose a user name (it can be your email address) and fill in standard questionnaire (name, age, address, email address). You can then log onto the members area. Here you can earn yourself another 65 points by answering some "profile boosters", further questions about yourself on topics such as hobbies, education, children, pets, cars, income, work industry sector, salary and finally your internet usage.
** WEBSITE ** Although their website is good in that it's extremely very well laid out and easy to navigate and follow, the content is not updated very frequently. The same, sad, old and tired polls have been sitting on their "current" polls list forever and a day. Sections include:-
~ Take a Poll ("current" polls in which you can vote - nothing "current" about it) ~ Poll Results (voting results of old polls) ~ Win Prizes (current and past prize winners) ~ Forums (currently closed) ~ About Us (background on My Voice and a very detailed FAQ section) ~ Join Us (registration page)
Once logged in, your home page will welcome you by name. This page will also show a list of current polls you can take. You can also check you current points balance and number of prize draw entries you have accumulated.
** SURVEYS ** I first joined MyVoice when it was quite an active site. New polls went live very regularly. They didn't send out a huge amount of survey invites, but polls allowed you to rack up your points. That said it still took me over two and a half years to reach their 2,000 point threshold and claim my first voucher from them. Nowadays, My Voice surveys offer the only real opportunities to earn points, but these are few and far between. When you're lucky enough to get a survey invite, they always come by email and usually offer anything between 25 to 200 points. Emails from My Voice will tell you the topic of the survey, number of points to be earned and the prospective length of time it will take. I must say that the surveys are always extremely well laid out and easy to follow, with any images loading quickly. I've undertaken a couple of surveys on new products for My Voice, but on the whole their surveys are most likely to be on your lifestyle and personal opinion rather than on new products to be launched. You are likely to be asked you opinion on such things as television programmes, your working environment, your retirement plans or your car.
** POLLS ** Polls used to be a handy way to earn the odd point here and there to push you closer to your claim. However, My Voice have stopped paying out points on polls; you only get a prize draw entry nowadays. Everytime you respond to one of their polls you automatically receive an entry into their current prize draw. In the good old days there used to be at least 2/3 new polls per week, but this has recently gone down to approximately one every six months or so.
** REFERRAL SYSTEM ** There is a referral system and this gains you 25 points per referral. It's limited to a maximum of 5 referrals per member. Customer service is good, any email queries have been dealt with politely, quickly and effectively by the My Voice. They also promise that they won't give out your details to any third parties or send you any spam.
** CONCLUSION ** I joined My Voice in 2003 and it took me over two and a half years to reach the threshold to claim my first voucher from them. To be fair to them, once I claimed my voucher, it did arrive in the post fairly promptly. Nowadays, I estimate it taking about 3 to 4 years to earn the required 2,000 points to reach the My Voice minimum payout threshold, and that is a hideously slow process. Although My Voice is a professional and well-run outfit, they really aren't offering their members enough work nowadays to make it worth their time. Although you get 115 points "free" for joining, the surveys themselves are so sporadic, it will take a new member a minimum of 3 to 4 years to gain enough points to earn anything from My Voice. There are better paid survey sites out there, and My Voice seem to have got left behind in offering good and consistent earning opportunities for their members. So, in reality, I cannot really give them a huge recommendation unless you are prepared to be very, very patient in terms of earning anything.
Once I claimed my £20 voucher and received it, I'm afraid I jumped ship and deleted my account. I really didn't have the patience to do the whole thing over again and wait another 3 to 4 years for my second voucher. Sadly, they're not really recommended nowadays. I'll give them a rather generous one star mainly because they do actually pay out when you reach 2,000 points.

Advantages: Free Vouchers, Easy to use, Interesting Features Disadvantages: Need to check site regularly
My latest venture into 'sad things to do on the net and feel as though I'm being counted' took me to a site called Myvoice.co.uk.
I had visited this site on the recommendation of an op here on Ciao, and am honestly glad that I did!
The reasoning behind this site is simple. Take part in opinion polls that are posted onto the site and earn points for doing so. Advantages: Easy and simple poll to fill in, fast payment once target achieved Disadvantages: Takes a while to accumulate points
...is no advertising on the Myvoice.co.uk website, and they promise not to sell your personal data on to third parties. My voice do sell the results of the polls to councils, governments and companies, who want to find out what real people think about products or services. It is in this way that they can give away the vouchers and prizes. I have quite often seen the results of the polls published in newspapers and magazines and also on teletext. It ... ...of 16 can sign up, members of the same household are allowed to sign up, as long as they fill in the questionnaires themselves, so you could have your husband/wife/partner/sister/brother/sons/daughters etc as members as long as they all have their own accounts, and are over 16. Is there an incentive to join? Yes, in short there is. For completing the polls you are rewarded with a number of 'points', anything from 0 - 50, the majority of polls are ...

Advantages: easy to do Disadvantages: takes a while to get enough points for a voucher
I have just received a £20 Marks and Spencer voucher from My Voice. I have been a member since August last year so it has taken me a while. Having said that it was not hard work. My voice is an opinion site, but it is not like Ciao because all you need to do, once you have joined, is give your opinion on various subjects. Some are fun topics others are more serious and are related to either local or world events. These are in the form of polls and ... ...over 16 to join and a UK resident. Just give a few details, name, and address and email address. You choose a user name and a password. Once you have joined you need to keep checking out the site to see if there are any new polls are there are no email alerts. I usually visit the site 2 or 3 times a week and it is easy to see from the homepage if there are any new polls. Emails are sent inviting you to surveys and I also receive the occasional newsletter. ...

Advantages: very simple to use, interesting polls Disadvantages: you won't get rich very quickly
When a lot of people think of market research, they probably think of rich London bigwigs, complicated forms to fill in, and only being selected to actually take part in the company's projects every six months!! Alas, MyVoice is completely different, and they try to brush off these stereotypical images. The site is as people-friendly as possible, which is no doubt the secret of their success. And as the site gets more and more popular, the site is ... ...make some extra cash. ~*~
WHO ARE THEY?
The original concept of MyVoice began in 1999, in Japan (always ahead of us!), and is owned by a well respected company called Itochu. It's success in Japan, and in over fifty other countries, brought MyVoice to Britain today. Let me tell you now - this ISN'T a scam company that won't pay you once you've met the required amount. But it also ISN'T going to make you rich in a week. Building up any real amount ...

UPDATE
======
Just thought I'd update this to tell you that My Voice DO pay up, two days ago I reached the 2,000 points, I requested £20 in Tesco vouchers, so not only do they honour their promises, they do it with speed. I'm off now to spend my vouchers on a weeks supply of Tesco's delicious "Loaded" Pizzas (see op on them, they're excellent).

Yes, we have another site to make money off, well actually vouchers, but hey, they’re just as ... ...“myvoice.co.uk” and it is another addition to the ever growing list of “paid-for-surveys” sites, but unlike “myviewpoint.co.uk” (see my opinion on them), this site doesn’t mess around with the dubious “Draw Prizes” (I just don’t trust anything that adapts a Draw prize, as its too easily fixed) or the false offerings of making you rich, just a matter of earning enough points to send for a £20 shopping voucher.
So, what exactly is “myvoice.co.uk”?
