Review of "ncsu.edu"
I found this page on the new scientist link page. So far it's been amazingly useful as far as my understanding of physics is concerned (it also explains some mathematical concepts, but I haven't looked at them. i'll add something if i do).
Anyway the site aims to help explain varios concepts. The physics related stuff starts with two basic introductions, one to thinking like a scientist, the other to thinking like a physicist. They probably aren't essential reading, but they're useful for getting to know the guy's style of writing and the like.
The actually explanations don't come with a lot of fancy pictures or diagrams, but the text is plain, simple and easy to understand; though you do have to be giving it your full attention.
Following the introductions there's some stuff about units, when units go square etc. all of which is also very helpful. Then there's a paper on special relativity and one on quantum mechanics, followed by other peoples contributions.
If you're looking for some quick help with physics revision this isn't really the place, but if you're looking to improve your general understanding you should certainly check out this page. Though having said that the pages on units could come in useful if you're having difficulties relating problems to formulas (or you don't think you'rew having problems, but your answers are some how coming out wrong, which amounts to pretty much the same thing).
