i was first introduced to neopets by my friends who told me it was the most addictive site she had ever been on. at first i didn't believe her. i thought how can a virtual pet website be addictive. but its true. this site is very addictive! so be warned, if you go on this site you may forget that there is still the real world out there. so now i guess you will want to know what is this virtual pet site all about and how do you use it? if you haven't been on it before then it can be very confusing, but just be patient and you will soon get the hang of it.

your neopet
after signing up you'll be able to create your neopet. you do this by clicking on a button called create a pet on the left hand side. be careful when you are making your neopet as this is what will be with you when you go on the site and so be sure you are going to like him or her because people do get bored of pets which can be very sad. you can make your neopet just how you like including choosing from many different breeds of neopets. these are just animals but not the normal ones you are used to. sometimes rare ones come out but they are only there for a short time so if you want one you have to snap it up quick. some rare favourites are the Cybunny, a cute little bunny; the Tonu and the Chomby which are both dinosaurs; and then there is the Koi and Jetsam, which look like fish. some other limited pets include the Krawk which is actually the very rarest, the Draik, the Poogle, and the Kiko. i would advise you to just start off with one pet and later when you get better to go and make one of the rare pets i just mentioned if you ever get the chance to as they are really great.

each person can have up to 4 pets at one time but i advise you to just start with one while you are getting good at things and know what to do properly and then get more maybe. like i said make your pet so you will like it but if at any time you decide that you don't want one of your pets anymore then you can go to the Neopian Pound and here you can put him or her in it and then someone else can adopt it. if you want to adopt a pet some other person put in there then it does cost you money but sometimes it is definately worth it as they are like cheaper and there are some good ones in there too.

theres load to do aswell as feeding your pet like you can groom him or her by buying combs, makeup and lots of other things too. all this stuff can just be found using the Shop Wizard or you can go directly to the Grooming Parlor which is a shop run by a Usul who went a little overboard on the makeup and that but if she has the thing that you wanted then get it while you can. you will find that all shops tend to run out of stock pretty quick and it takes a few minutes for them to restock. quite often the shop prices are cheaper but thats only if stuff is in stock. so well as grooming your pet you can buy these special paintbrushes that can change his or her colour if you get bored of the same colour. you can see pictures of all the pet's colours at the Rainbow Pool this is located in Neopia Central.

Things you can do on neopets
there is so much that you can do on neopets you just wont know where to start looking. i think it is pretty obvious by now that neopoints are very useful to you and it is something that everyone will need. you can go to the bank to keep neopoints in, this is located in neopet central. another useful place to go is the money tree. other members can leave useful things here that can give a helping hand to poorer members. if you find yourself with too much money to handly then you can give money here. So i guess you want to know how to earn neopoints. the main way members earn all of their neopoints is through playing loads n loads of games. there is other ways however for example through competitions.
