Net4nowt is a site that is simply a must if you're searching through the jungle of ISP information, and you know by now that it is a jungle. There is a wealth of information on all the ISPs and all are rated by their users.
The site is very easy on the eye, which makes it very simple to navigate and it is split up into 5 sections: (1) main content (2) News

(1) Main content: This gives a comprehensive list of all the ISPs available offering their services free with local call charges applying. There are 237 listed and it gives information on speeds, access, newsgroups, webspace available and other technical information such as details on setting up pop accounts etc. 52 unmetered ISPs are also listed with similar information and also gives costs and users rating, which is extremely useful. There is a new section listing the ISPs offering broadband connection (or bloody quick speeds to you and me). Again this is comprerhensive and gives all the information you need to choose one. There are also other sections, giving details on Subscription ISPs, Virtual ISPs and details of companies offering cheaper net access.
(2) News: This is just what the title suggests. It gives news,which is updated daily, on any media company and articles pertaining to the internet in general.
(3) Features: This part of the site allows discussion by way of a chat room and Discussion forum. It also allows users to vote for their favourite ISPs and list the top 5 ISPs and the worst 5 ISPs as voted by its users, this is updated weekly.

This site is simply a must. If you are looking for an ISP there is no need to feel lost in the maze of info on the web, just check out this site and you will immediatley feel at ease and feel in more control of your surfing decisions. In the end it can save you time, hassle, and most of all, money.

Net4Nowt has played a major role in my search for ISP satisfaction. Having mentioned it briefly in a previous opinion, I decided to review the site itself. For those of you not familiar with the name, Net4Nowt is a site dedicated to ISPs. It lists, and gives the basic details on, a large number of companies offering internet connection. In addition to that, the site has news articles, features such as forums and votes, and links to other ISP related ... ...by the very basic appearance. Although not overly attractive to the eye, you can navigate very easily around the site and this, I feel, is more important on a reference site than fancy graphics and design. Another benefit of the simplistic style is that the pages are quick to download.

I came across net4nowt after seeing a couple of sentances about them on "thestreet.co.uk"..............and never looked back! It was through net4nowt that I heard about the (once) excellent lineone/quip offer. Word of mouth has certainly spread about n4n as there are constantly new updates on Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Net4nowt.com is one of the best places on the web to find out information about ISPs. The site has all the latest news from ISPs (mainly dodgy companies going bust and others chucking off customers), and also carries customer reviews of ISPs in a very similar way to Ciao.
The best feature of net4nowt is the tables of information comparing what seems like every single ISP in existence - whether you want to pay per minute, or get an off-peak or 24 ... ...e-mail accounts etc. The only problem with these tables is that there are so many and the print used is so small that it can be a bit confusing.
The Ciao-like reviews of ISPs are not as good as the reviews on this site, so I would not really recommend them. Net4nowt does have discussion forums and chat rooms though, which are very useful. For example, my last ISP, Sniffout, suddenly stopped working last week, so I was able to go to net4nowt and ...

Need a new ISP but don’t know which one is best? Want an unmetered ISP, or just want to check up how your current provider is rated? Well, www.net4nowt has it all. There is a complete listing of 299 ISPs along with 58 free unmetered ISPs. I don’t think you will find another site with quite so much information. You can even vote for the best and worst ISP! Advantages: Huge information resource on ISPs Disadvantages: Somewhat cluttered and slow at times
A site that has not been reveiewd for quite some time, that has undergone a majore redesign to keep up with the modern trends of database driven site design.
The site now is powered with asp pages, sourced from a comprehensive database of virtually all major UK ISP's (Internet Service Providers).
I remember the site from being static HTML pages, and updating those must have been a nightmare for the site owners. But now, that all has changed.
The ... ...site such as: Narrowband ISP's (56K modems), Broadband (DSL), Metered access providers (Pay as you go...), Unmetered providers (Flat fee services).
In addition to those ISP listings, there is a chat rooom, discussion forums, message boards, news, glossary, and virus info.
All in all a comprehensive site with a huge amount of information to take in.
The individual listing pages of ISP's look rather impressive, giving you direct links to the ISP, ...
