This is an excellent site for two main reasons for me:
Firstly, you have an embarrassing problem and feel to shy to go to the doctors. Then, this site is excellent for doing your own little research and finding out what is exactly is your problem. It can either put your mind at rest or maybe give you that little push to go and see your doctor. Secondly, you may go to the doctor but feel that your doctor didn’t give you sufficient information ... ...to know more about your diagnosis. Then, look up this site. I only visited this site after a neighbour of mine had a severe stroke and became paralysed on his left side. It really shocked me not to mention the entire of the neighbourhood- he was head of the Neighbourhood Watch. I did find his sudden illness difficult to accept so I decided to find out more about strokes. I looked up ‘strokes’ on the site and did find some good information. ...

Netdoctor.co.uk is a British based website that you can access for free and find out anything you need to know about any condition or illness out there. Written by qualified Doctors and health proffessionals you can not only look up the symptoms of an illness but get e-mailed replies from Doctors about any worries you may have and believe me it has saved me loads of visits to the Doctors surgery which I must confess I hate going to. The only down ... ...your symptoms they tend to relate to about 10 different illnesses so you have to try and be as detailed as possible and also this site can lull you into a false sense of security about the condition you may be suffering from and if what you are feeling is really bad go to the doctors anyway as this can never replace a phsyical observation. Advantages: Information on medical conditions, medicines, tests etc with a large database. Help groups and expert help available.Easy to navigate. Disadvantages: None unless the information is used in wrong way.
