Shantaram
Review of Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts by dprd

Advantages: Very addictive and intriguing book based on real life
Disadvantages: gets a little vague inbetween

An awesome story of a guy who will not give up, a refreshing perspective on "no matter how bad it gets it would get worse" shantharam is a story based on real life that exposes its readers to surreal circumstances, once picked up can never pt down a brilliant piece that explores layers in both human perceptions through run away convict and the Mafia community of a world unknown to him. The best part of the book is it takes one back to the time with ...
...lives of this "invisible society " that is structured around our social fabric and comprehending the reasons and sympathisisng with the circumstances which would other wise not be acceptable. The book ialthough is so complex with multi discplinary facets of individuals who lead a very ambigious life surprisingly that dosnt sink into the reader while reading, It hits like a jolt when contemplating about what was read, over all a must read book ... Valentino Rossi - What if I had never tried?
Review of Valentino Rossi: What If I Had Never Tried It - Valentino Rossi by coolerking918

Advantages: A must for all fans
Disadvantages: None

The now 7 times world motorcycle champion gives a frank and honest account of his time with Honda and his move to Yamaha. He also gives a fascinating insight into his childhood times in Italy and his introduction to motorcycle racing by his Father, himself a racer. The first half of the book tends to deal with the unbelievable choice(at the time) to move from the all conquering Honda Racing to the struggling Yamaha. Tired of the assumption that ...
...Rossi decided to take the world on and prove them wrong(as we now know he has). His rivals at the time gloating at the fact may just be eating humble pie right now. Some amazing accounts of how multi million pound deals were taking place in the dead of night, hidden away in race track medical centres !!!! Truly unbelievable, but as you get a feel for the real Rossi you soon see it as not so far fetched. You really feel that you know the man behind ... Read review

Karina
Review of Karina has Down Syndrome - Cheryl Rogers, Gun Dolva by bluejules

Advantages: *
Disadvantages: *

...book describes the developmental stages Karina reaches. As these are later than a typical child, I felt really pleased when she reached them. I felt as though someone was telling me about a child I knew, and I felt almost as emotional about it. There is also information about the professional help that Karina received in the early years of her life. I think this will be helpful to new parents of a child with special needs. There are contact details ...
...helpful to British parents) Karina has an older sister and a younger brother and I enjoyed reading about the family as a whole even though the book is focused mainly on Karina. It was nice to read how the family coped and I enjoyed reading about things they did together. ~ What did I think and would I recommend it? ~ I really enjoyed reading this book. It was nicely written and I was interested in learning about the development of this lovely ... Read review

Amazing
Review of Still Me - Christopher Reeve by Angiebaby999

Advantages: Interesting, awe inspiring
Disadvantages: sad and upsetting

...someone with such injuries can still make an amazing life. Worth the read. I would probably not read this book again, but would recommend it to others who are iunterested in Biographies. I did find the last chapter a bit repetative but the rest of it was quite an amazement, how anyone can achieve what Christopher Reeve did makes us realise how lucky we are. I found it sad because of his accident and rather frightening as I ride horses and realised ... Read review
