Difficult To Read As Well As Write
Review of Difficult Second Book - Chris Moyles by
Andy.mack
Advantages: Contains a lot of Moyles Wit and Observations
Disadvantages: Feels Rushed and not as good as it could have been
...it a go, but The Difficult Second Book wasn't just difficult in title, it was also difficult to read.
The book is described as an insight into the double life that Moyles lives. In the mornings he is the award winning host of Radio's breakfast show, helping millions of people to start their day. Then for the rest of the day he is just your average guy, with the exception of a few celebrity mates. Throughout the book he looks at events over the last ... ...to be the self-proclaimed saviour of Radio 1.
Having woken up to Moyles on the way to work for the last 5 years I've actually enjoyed listening to him whilst stuck in traffic. I thought the book would be an extension of the radio show and while to a degree it is, there just seems something a little forced about it all. The ideas for each of the 18 chapters seems to have been a little rushed and in fact one of these is apparently republished from ...

Great on Radio...stop writing books
Review of The Gospel According to Chris Moyles: The Story of a Man and His Mouth - Chris Moyles by
mum2boys82
Advantages: It tells you something about Moyles
Disadvantages: It jumps around, badly written, not much information
...listen to Chris Moyles in the morning before I had kids and gave up working, now I just sit and watch kids cartoons until it's time to get dressed (but that is a different story), and I used to really enjoy listening to him.
I remember Chris talking about his book on air quite a bit, but then forgot about it until I read a review on another site, the review did say that the book wasn't really that good and to borrow it from a library rather than ... ...the library and return with the book. I was really interested to get started so I sat down to enjoy the book.
It was so bad that I almost took the book back before finishing the first chapter. It is written in a really over familiar way, the way you might write a letter to a close friend, not in a typical bookish type of way. Some may find this appealing, but I didn't.
Each of the chapters are actually quite long but they are usually split up into ...

Coleen's Wag World
Review of Welcome to My World - Coleen McLoughlin by
jenny1986
Advantages: Insight into Coleen's personal achievements
Disadvantages: I'll never be able to afford her clothes, shoes, bags!!!!
WAG TASTIC
I just had to have this book! For so long I had been jealously eyeing up her clothes, her shoes, her bags, how does she look so good!? Maybe, just maybe her debut book could show me the answers and the secrets behind her flawless image. I wasn't disappointed as she proceeds to list her most expensive bags, shoes and her regular and yes you guessed it expensive beauty treatments! So although I found out how she looks so good I also felt ...

What a real Role Model should be
Review of Black, White and Gold - Kelly Holmes by
sewbizzie
Advantages: Great inspirational reading
Disadvantages: Bit long winded when she laks about other race competitors
Black White and Gold is the biography written by 2 times Olympic champion, Dame Kelly Holmes.
She starts the book in March of 2005 as she is sitting in a limousine driving towards the gate of Buckingham Palace. She is off to receive her Damehood and she says how surreal it felt and how she had to pinch herself to make sure it was really happening. She tells how she joked with the other people who were also their receiving their Damehood and Knights', ... ...to have the Queen place the sword on each of her shoulders, she tells them all she is going to kneel down anyway! As we all know she did not and she received her dame hood in the correct way!
We are then taken back to her early years and she tells how when her parents found out she was pregnant and had split up from her boyfriend they did not want her to have the baby but she went ahead and when Kelly was born her mother was given the choice of ...

Don't You Know Who I Am - I do now mate.........
Review of Don't You Know Who I Am?: Insider Diaries of Fame, Power and Naked Ambition - Piers Morgan by
leporecon1986
Advantages: Funny, interesting and gossipy
Disadvantages: slightly boring in places
After watching multiple episodes of Britain's got talent, and quite enjoying the remarks made by Piers Morgan I decided to pick up one of his books. My brother had a copy 'Don't you know who I am?' so this was the obvious choice.
The book consists of a number of diary entries around the time after his Mirror newspaper sacking, and evolves around his search for a new job, celebrity status and also I had no real idea of who Piers Morgan was except ... ...owing to a sacking. In this book Piers lifts the lid on his meeting with numerous celebrities ranging from top bench cabinet ministers to the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Sharon Osborne, all of which are thoroughly eventful. My favourite has to be his meeting with Sharon where he waits for her PR to go to the loo before asking her opinion of certain celebrities knowing that she would be more likely to slag them off without the PR present. Piers manages ...
