Don't You Know Who I Am - I do now mate.........
Review of Don't You Know Who I Am?: Insider Diaries of Fame, Power and Naked Ambition - Piers Morgan by leporecon1986

Advantages: Funny, interesting and gossipy
Disadvantages: slightly boring in places

After watching multiple episodes of Britain's got talent, and quite enjoying the remarks made by Piers Morgan I decided to pick up one of his books. My brother had a copy 'Don't you know who I am?' so this was the obvious choice. The book consists of a number of diary entries around the time after his Mirror newspaper sacking, and evolves around his search for a new job, celebrity status and also I had no real idea of who Piers Morgan was except ...
...owing to a sacking. In this book Piers lifts the lid on his meeting with numerous celebrities ranging from top bench cabinet ministers to the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Sharon Osborne, all of which are thoroughly eventful. My favourite has to be his meeting with Sharon where he waits for her PR to go to the loo before asking her opinion of certain celebrities knowing that she would be more likely to slag them off without the PR present. Piers manages ... Read review

An interesting read
Review of The Insider - Piers Morgan by ScottishWestie

Advantages: Scandals & gossip
Disadvantages: Too many political issues

...was he used to be the editor of the Daily Mirror & little else. This book, which is not written in a diary format, allows the reader to enter a world little of us have much contact with. You may read the end result every day, but Morgan's paints an interesting picture in the life of a newspaper editor. It starts off roughly around the time he was editor with the News of the World working with such people as Alistair Campbell & takes you through ...
...as Daily Mirror editor at the tender age of 28, which in its self is quite an achievement. The Mirror was (and still is) a mouth piece for the Labour Government so Morgan was always made privy to important information that people such as Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Alistair Campbell & the 'snake like' Peter Mandelson wanted the public to hear. His relationship with these people dominates the book, as does his strained relationship with Cherie Blair ... Read review

A Nightime on Radio
Review of Almost a Celebrity: A Lifetime of Night-Time - James Whale by charlesnewton

Advantages: Easy to read and follow
Disadvantages: Controversial at times with strong opinions

This is the story of one of Britains most controvercial and opinionated Shock Jock Radio presenters. It takes you along the road of his life in Radio, including Top Shop Radio, for the Top Shop clothes store, Local Radio in Newcastle, Radio Aire in Leeds, where he took his show to Television, to his last show on Talk Sport Radio. It also talks about his diagnosis with Cancer and the setting up of his cancer charity. This book does not dissapoint. ...
...his opinions on a variety of subjects as well as charting his life and career. It also has a wonderful tribute to his personal friend, Bernard Manning, who passed just before the book was published. Witty, controversial and entertaining, this is a must read for all who have listened to the James Whale Radio Show. The book is written by James himself and charts his life at various stages as well as sharing his experiences and opinions. ... Read review

Let the entertainer entertain you
Review of Anything Goes: The Autobiography - John Barrowman & Carole E. Barrowman by dbarcl10

Advantages: Great read, informative and humorous
Disadvantages: None

Anything goes. And in the case of John Barrowman, this is certainly the truth. From being relatively unknown just a few short years ago, John has quickly risen to being a popular celebrity, being on many prime time television shows, such as Doctor Who, Torchwood, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything. I first noticed John when I caught an episode of Torchwood. I was never a fan of Doctor Who so I didn't expect ...
...starting in 1989 up to early 2008, followed by a thorough index of the book. Love him or loathe him, Anything Goes is an excellent book by a multi talented all round entertainer. John Barrowman: Anything Goes By Carole E Barrowman Hardback ISBN: 978-1-84317-289-5 256 Pages ... Read review
