sophie_801
Advantages: discriptive,tragic, humourous and charming
Disadvantages: none
...the most disturbuing parts of Alan Bennetts life is read aloud by him. When assaulted in Italy,Alan, then realises how many of his birthdays have been spend either ill or in hospital. He relects on the tragedy of his life in a way that is totally unsurpassed and unique to him. Bennetts, way with words, his unique sense of humour and ability to turn darkness to light , makes this a fantastic audio book. Allows the listener a privilaged insight into ... ...a wonderful story, you feel honoured to be allowed to know so much about his life, and read from his own lips, makes his story all the more poignant. This is part 4 own his diaries and can be heard alone, but having heard and read all of his diary collection, it is a fitting sequel and would be well purchased alongside the others from his publishings. I can't find a bad word to say about this CD. Well reccommended!!!! ...

In Bed With Marilyn Monroe!
Review of An Evening with Marilyn - Douglas Kirkland by
KarenUK
Advantages: Beautiful pictures, well presented, good price
Disadvantages: Could have done with more information
...years ago. I built up an impressive collection of books, postcards and other memorabilia, but in the 1990s, I had my children and Marilyn became less important in my life. I sold some of my collection, lost other pieces between house moves and until last year, I only had a few items left.
Then last year, my interest in Marilyn was reignited. I joined some Marilyn yahoogroups and soon became as big a fan as I ever had been. I decided to start collecting ... ...bought his hardback book - An Evening With Marilyn - which was published in 2005. It cost £6.59 from Amazon and arrived quickly. It is a lovely looking book. Hot pink with a gorgeous Marilyn photo on the cover, it is a smallish hardback, around 8" x 7" in size. There are 126 pages, which include text but mainly photos in both colour and black and white. The book is very stylish. Often a page only contains a few sentences or a quote, using a bigger ...

Eddie Guerrero Viva La Raza
Review of Cheating Death, Stealing Life (WWE) - Eddie Guerrero, Michael Krugman by
Jelboy
Advantages: Complete homage to his life - everything you ever wanted to know is given.
Disadvantages: The book shows the rebirth of a man, however we know how his story ended.
Eddie Guerrero was simply one of the greatest entertainers of WWE. I never read before this book. It was the first book I bought with the intended purpose of reading it for leisure. For all wrestling fans this is a must read. There is no reason to not read this book. It provides every single detail of his life, family, sexual encounters, drugs, crises, several wrestling promotions. He was so personal in this book and it is a breath of fresh air to ... ...since Mick Foley. Although you may readd this book with empathy if you love him, many will be be able to step back and admire Eddie just through what they have read in this book, not what they have seen on TV. If you have never read a book about a wrestler, this should be the first. If you ever want to know what an excrutiating, exhilirating, emotional, and painful job wrestling can be you must read this. You wont believe half the things he did. ...

Don't You Know Who I Am - I do now mate.........
Review of Don't You Know Who I Am?: Insider Diaries of Fame, Power and Naked Ambition - Piers Morgan by
leporecon1986
Advantages: Funny, interesting and gossipy
Disadvantages: slightly boring in places
After watching multiple episodes of Britain's got talent, and quite enjoying the remarks made by Piers Morgan I decided to pick up one of his books. My brother had a copy 'Don't you know who I am?' so this was the obvious choice.
The book consists of a number of diary entries around the time after his Mirror newspaper sacking, and evolves around his search for a new job, celebrity status and also I had no real idea of who Piers Morgan was except ... ...owing to a sacking. In this book Piers lifts the lid on his meeting with numerous celebrities ranging from top bench cabinet ministers to the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Sharon Osborne, all of which are thoroughly eventful. My favourite has to be his meeting with Sharon where he waits for her PR to go to the loo before asking her opinion of certain celebrities knowing that she would be more likely to slag them off without the PR present. Piers manages ...

Einstein: His life and Universe Review
Review of Einstein: His Life and Universe - Walter Isaacson by
immitimmi
Advantages: Simple to read, easy to understand
Disadvantages: Some theories explained for a little too long
The book is an outstanding recollection of Albert Einstein's life and provides for a magnificent narration of important events in the simplest of vocabulary. Interestingly, the most fascinating aspect of this book is the simplicity with which it tries to explain the process through which Einstein created his theories and the remarkable ups and downs that accompanied them. Alongside that,it also provides a wonderful depiction of the great man's personal ...
