Retro blending
Review of Dualit 83236 Professional Blender/Glacier by
kgilmore
Advantages: Retro look, easy to use and clean
Disadvantages: Glass jug can be heavy and more prone to breakage
I chose this blender to match my new look kitchen. I liked the retro style look of the blender with the choice of colours and the glass jug.
It is really easy to use compared to some other blenders as the speed is operated by a dial.
The safety features are also better than other blenders I have used: there is an on/off switch, a start/stop button and the lid must be properly fitted into the space at the back. This makes it very difficult for kids ...

Beautiful blender
Review of KitchenAid 5KSB5EMY by
jonkitlib
Advantages: Powerful, with adjustable speed and handy pulse function
Disadvantages: Cannot do small quantities
I have had my Kitchen Aid blender for over two years now and use it several times a week. It is great for soups and smoothies and powerful enough to cope with most things - green smoothies, raw carrot, ice cubes...
The variety of settings mean that I can do things such as pasta sauces which I do not necessarily want to be completely lump-free (the pulse function is useful here) or go for a totally smooth texture for milkshakes and smoothies. Also ... ...and rescuing pancake batter ;)
Like most liquidisers this one cannot cope with dry foods, so for coffee beans, nuts, seeds etc you will need a separate grinder, unless you soak them first and/or add liquid. It also struggles with small quantities (less than about half a pint will simply get smeared around the edges of the goblet) so unless you are batch-cooking it's not a good bet for baby food.
The base unit is easy to wipe clean and reassuringly ...

Kitchen Aid .... possibly the best blender ever??
Review of KitchenAid KSB52BAC by
shand
Advantages: Stlyish, multifunctional, easy to use and clean, built to last
Disadvantages: top end price
I have owned my kitchen aid for 6 months now and I can't imagine how I lived in this world without one. This is the only blender I have ever used that is built to withstand the tests of time. It is robust, sturdy but ever so stylish. There are 10 functions in all, including one which crushes ice - a feature many of us dream off but will in all probability never use. It is incredibly easy to clean - which most blenders, really, are not. It is also ...

Hand blender
Review of Moulinex ADG342 by
ashton08
Advantages: Price, easy to clean
Disadvantages: None
I bought this hand blender when I started weaning my baby. I wanted to make his food myself to ensure I knew what went in it, I for some reason have a huge distrust in jarred baby food. I also use it to make myself fruit smoothies which it does brilliantly. I have a large free-standing blender but its an absolute pain in the rear to clean, especially if I'm only blending small amounts of food, well actually even if I am blending alot of food I still ... ...I didn't want anything fancy and I didn't want anything expensive. This suited my requirements perfectly. It is comfortable to use, fitting perfectly into your hand and blends the food up pretty quickly. It has a detachable foot, making it so easy to clean. It is quite small, stores away well. The jug that comes with it is very handy, just the right size. I would definately recommend it. ...
