Its not the size its how you use it
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 / 2.4 GHz processor by
Digital_Friend
Advantages: Fast, energy efficiant, cheap
Disadvantages: intel have announced 6 core cpus on the way
Excellent Processor, the usual simple to install and the stock fan does its job well.
Very overclockable and can easily reach speeds of 3.0ghz without having to change the cooler.
In my oppinion certainly worth picking up as great value for money also with the release and rapid take up of quad core cpus the price of these dual core processors is only going to carry on going lower, meaning if you dont have a need for 4 cores pumping out your office ... ...graphics work that need the extra cores, grab one of these.
They will amaze you at the performance you will receive especially if upgrading from something a lot lower, i personally upgraded from a lowly AMD Athlon 2600 and was happier than a sandboy in a jam packed pub. ...

Powerful and efficient
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 / 3 GHz processor by
ClockworkUniverse42
Advantages: Fast, good overclocking potential; the best for games (and virtually all other applications)
Disadvantages: Runs fairly warm, but nothing terrible
As a gamer, I needed the best processor out there. Searching around, the only real debate in this price range was whether to go for the E6850, a dual core CPU, or the Q6600, a quad core at a lower clock. After looking at many different benchmarks and reviews, the answer was clear - the higher clocked part (the E6850) was a more power processor, giving better performance in games, and better performance in most ofther software applications as well. ... ...6 months ago when I bought this product; current applications do not need 4 cores to run quickly, especially games. If I was particularly interested in video editing, then I may have gone for a quad-core, but for my purposes it wasn't nescessary. Not only that, but I have used video editing software on this, and it will render incredibly quickly - I was blown away.
So, the upshot is - what do you need to use your computer for? A few specialised ...

Run stable and quiet.
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by
pchenn
Advantages: Stable Temperature.
Disadvantages: -
...XP SP2. I like this AMD processor because have dual core system and more faster than Intel Pentium Core Duo 2.2Ghz. I use ECS GeForce6100PM-M2 mainboard, DDR2 1Ghz, onboard VGA sharing up to 512MB. Then I try run The Sims game and wow.... I don't believe it, run stable and quick load when play. I can play NBA Live 2007 game too without using PCI-E VGA card. This AMD processor very quiet and the temperature is always stable. I try it all using original ...

E6750 - The midrange cpu to buy
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by
RRD313
Advantages: fairly good price, dual core, 2.66 ghz, 4m L2 cache
Disadvantages: fan is somewhat hard to install
This E6750 is the processor running in my computer as I write this review. In my opinion I couldn't have chosen a better CPU for what I was looking for. I was looking to spend around 200 USD for a processor and I wanted it to be very powerful so that I could run demanding programs and all of the most recent games. This processor combined with my 8800 gts 320md graphics card put on a show when it comes to graphics displays. I have yet to be disappointed ...

Excellent value for Money
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by
cstewart08
Advantages: Quite Fast, Overclockable, Cheap
Disadvantages: 1mb cache
I have had this processor in my PC for around 7 months and it is probably the best value processor around. I put it i my first ever build and it was very easy to install and very fast, probably the fastest PC I had ever used!
After a few days I messed aroung with overclocking and this is when I really unlocked its potential. I don't really have a clue about memory timings etc. so anything extra I could get out of it the better. I could get it up ... ...but its now sitting at 3Ghz as it has been for 7 months and it flies! I have played quite a few games with it including COD4, PES 2008, FIFA 08, GTA SA, Half Life 2 and more, very smoothly. I can also convert a 2hr film to DVD in around 50 mins, on my old computer it would take 4hrs.
Overall a cheap and Cheerful processor ...
