AMD Phenom 9500 / 2.2 GHz processor
Review of AMD Phenom X4 9500 / 2.2 GHz processor by
shivendu
Advantages: quad-core design handles data efficiently; cheaper than competing Intel quad-core chips.
Disadvantages: Expensive
...for its subpar performance. Unless AMD drops prices more aggressively, it looks like Intel will maintain its grasp on the CPU market for the foreseeable future.
For raw performance, AMD's Athlon 64 X2 chips have lingered behind their Intel Core 2 Duo counterparts all year. Only aggressive pricing from AMD kept its old dual-core CPUs in systems and on store shelves. According to our testing, AMD will have to work similar magic with its new quad-core ... ...you can find a prebuilt PC that uses a Phenom 9500 for significantly less than a similar desktop with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, go for it. But unless you can find it for an exceptional price, we advise against the Phenom right now, because its performance simply isn't there. ...

dual core beauty
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 / 1.86 GHz processor by
sim_simian
Advantages: fast and responsive (though ciao's still slow)
Disadvantages: ummm it's not a quad core
had this cpu for week now happy with the performance in desktop applications, and in gaming; in counter strike source my fps is now between 60-70 running the cpu at stock which is ace.
The three best aspects of this processor is the dual core, which helps immensely with multi tasking so if you are like me get bored easily and try and do many things at once this cpu will deal with it fine.
Secondly the cache size is a really healthy 2mb which delfinately ...

The new Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 just rocks
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 / 2.13 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Good performance, Great value, Low power consumption, Stability
Disadvantages: None
...MB of cache. This new Intel core 2 processor E6420 replaces the old Core Duo E6400, and has a series of notable advantages over the latter one. I tested both products and one thing is sure, by adding two extra MB on the processor die, the performance increased quite a little. I've tested both processors in several aplications and the speed difference varies from almost none (rendering), to notable in encoding, compressing, multimedia (3-6 % speed ... ...this at the same price like E6400 processor.
The speed is just great for it's price and if you thing it isn't fast enough this processor is highly overclockable. my tested version worked until 3.15 Ghz with the stock cooler included and without increasing the processor voltage.
The stability of this core 2 processor is great, never experienced a single type of problem in the long hours of testing .The processor temperature is quite low, even when ...

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor by
mop591
Advantages: Very fast, cheap
Disadvantages: need to have IT expereince
This intel dual core processor with 2.33Ghz speed (total speed of 4.6Ghz) with a 4MB Cache can handle an awful lot of demanding programs runnning at once, obviously it has its limits, but for the price its a very good processor. This processor is also compatable with 64 bit computing.
It has an LGA775 Socket which is compatable with most of the new motherboards if you are looking to upgrade or build your own pc. If you are looking to buy a processor ...
