if you want cheap there's a reason why
Review of Intel Celeron D 356 / 3.33 GHz processor by sim_simian

Advantages: cheap, reliable good for everyday tasks.
Disadvantages: you can't expect too much

Got this processor in a cheap Medion pc (from tescos £300) about six months ago was intially very impressed by the frequency 3.33 ghz which sounds good. However this is deceiving to the performance of the cpu i.e. though it handles simple pc tasks such as non demanding things like the internet it often slows down and nearly constantly runs at 100% frequency or quite near that level. Game performance with this cpu is poor and will lead to low fps ...
...cache size 512k, adequete cache size is one of the main neccesitys for good pc gaming and intensive applications. In conclusion value for money but you get what you pay for, if your thinking of upgrading i'd delfinately go for a dual core processor for the sake of twenty pounds extra. ... Read review

P4 3.2GHz CPU with 512Kb Cache! Expensive but fast
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz processor by Deru

Advantages: FAST, Retail box comes with fan, sticker, manual
Disadvantages: More expensive than Celerons, AMDs, etc

...well as one of those Intel Pentium 4 ‘Intel Inside’ stickers. If you were to buy an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of the CPU, then you would not get the box, the documents, the heatsink and fan or the sticker. The warranty would also be a lot shorter. My retail boxed CPU has a 3 year limited warranty, which isn’t bad. Installation of the CPU was the same as any other CPU. First, lift the leaver to unlock the socket so the CPU’s pins ...
...the price as being an Intel Pentium, the price is higher than other CPU’s such as AMD’s, but if you do opt for the cheaper AMD, then you would need a whole different board so you have to plan ahead. Buying a board made for Pentiums/Celerons and then deciding on an AMD won’t help. Is it worth it? Well, that depends on what you use your computer for. I can’t recommend a high-end computer capable of running the latest 3D games, 3D rending applications, ... Read review

THE INTEL PROCESSOR.
Review of Intel Pentium 4 530J / 3 GHz processor by packerlist

Advantages: VERY HIGH SPEED IN PROCESSING
Disadvantages: : MAKES NOISE.

...reason is that my other Intel seems to be outdated and the number two reasons is that I wanted a more advanced and faster processor for my PC gaming so I had to buy this for these reasons. The processor comes in an orange packed colour with blue stripe at the edge of the pack and also with an instruction, heat stick and fan for cooling down the temperature. The processor makes it outright for easy installation and application so no problem when ...
...The Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHZ socket 775 CPU has hyper technology and I think that was the best processor computer product I could find in the market and I decided to buy it after a long battle between Intel and athlon processor on which one to buy. The Intel processors that I have been using have been good and processing fine and have not encountered any problem since in use of the brand so for the reason of replacements, I just wanted a more advanced ... Advantages: Stable Temperature.

...XP SP2. I like this AMD processor because have dual core system and more faster than Intel Pentium Core Duo 2.2Ghz. I use ECS GeForce6100PM-M2 mainboard, DDR2 1Ghz, onboard VGA sharing up to 512MB. Then I try run The Sims game and wow.... I don't believe it, run stable and quick load when play. E6750 - The midrange cpu to buy
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by RRD313

Advantages: fairly good price, dual core, 2.66 ghz, 4m L2 cache
Disadvantages: fan is somewhat hard to install

This E6750 is the processor running in my computer as I write this review. In my opinion I couldn't have chosen a better CPU for what I was looking for. I was looking to spend around 200 USD for a processor and I wanted it to be very powerful so that I could run demanding programs and all of the most recent games. This processor combined with my 8800 gts 320md graphics card put on a show when it comes to graphics displays. I have yet to be disappointed ... Read review
