AMD Sempron 3000+(AM2)(1.6GHz)
Review of AMD Sempron 3000+ / 1.6 GHz processor by
DrDivvi
Advantages: Incredibly cheap, reliable CPU
Disadvantages: FSB+Cache could be better
...life much easier when the AMD X2 prices come down in the future, if you are planning to upgrade.
Although the FSB and cache aren't amazing, it wouldn't really be a cheap processor if they were, so I can't really complain about that.
If you're looking for a cheap, reliable CPU. Wether you're on a budget, or want something until the X2 prices come down, a Sempron is a recommended buy. ...

The last Amd Mohican
Review of AMD Sempron 3600+ / 2 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Very cheap, extremely low power consuption, can be used with fanless cooler
Disadvantages: Poor performance compared with today multi core processors
Well what can I say, single core processor, I used to have something like this not so long ago, a good processor then but now a new era of processors had arrived, the dual core and quad core processors. Nevertheless the processor has it's own and unique advantages and disadvantages:
The good stuff:
Still not many multi thread aplications that the processor deals pretty well
Magnificent power consumption, only 30-35 watt on full load, and 5-6 watt ... ...fan less cooler for a silent and energy efficient computer
So cheap
The not so good stuff:
Modest performance in single threaded aplications
Poor performance in multi threaded aplications Say goodbye to HD movies (although some video cards can decode HD movies, but why risk: ) and future applications
Modest over clocking on low cost motherboards, only 300-500 Mhz
Conclusion: recommended for silent and energy efficient office computers ...

amd athlon
Review of AMD Athlon 64 3800+ / 2.4 GHz processor by
soulfirex
Advantages: very good for games
Disadvantages: not very good for muti tasking
amd have always been the bests for games but never 2 good for muti tasking but if your like me and you can have 2 processors you should have one amd and Intel so your pc will be good for gaming and muti tasking so if you really want a fast pc you should used amd and intel together so that you can do all the things you want or you could just get two of this amd processor so that your pc will be 4.8 ghz with windows xp 64 bit it will work so much better ...

Nice one
Review of AMD Athlon 64 3000+ / 1.8 GHz processor by
dav987
Advantages: Pretty cheap, fast, very cool therefore overclockable
Disadvantages: none whatsoever
It's an amd, it says its a 64 bit athlon 3000+ but what does this mean in plain english!
Well first of all it is 64-bit which basically means that it is compatible with 64-bit operating systems and programs which is not necessary at the moment but in the future it will be.
Secondly, the name suggests the clock speed is 3.0GHz but it is actually clocked at 1.8GHz. The reason it is called a 3000+ is because that is the relative performance output, ... ...than say an athlon xp 1.8GHz, hence the name.
I have had one of these since January, i have had no problems with it at all, it is a lot cooler than the old athlons, mainly due to the new transistor size being 90nm rather than the old 130nm.
All in all a very good, relatively cheap INVESTMENT into a socket 939 system that will leave you with plenty of scope for future upgrades. ...

High performance with a low price tag!
Review of AMD Sempron 3200+ / 1.8 GHz processor by
clairearcher
Advantages: Excelent all round performance
Disadvantages: NONE!
...one for you. Once again AMD have produced a competitively priced CPU which more than rivals the offers made from Pentium. I have incorporated this particular CPU into a relatively low cost self build using 1.5Gb memory using the Windows XP OS. The results observed whilst using the ever greedy resource guzzling Microsoft Office 2007 were outstanding. Excel, Power Point, Word etc. were quick to open without any signs of the all to familiar whirring ... ...had no problems with handling video playback from DVD or with on-line streaming. I had installed a Freeview TV card into the same build which again the CPU had no problems at all handling, with no jumping or picture freezing. I frequently have TV playback on my PC at the same time as using MS Office with very little signs of a depreciation in overall speed of the system. To summarise a good value CPU for speed and stability. ...
