A truely great processor of its time. If you still have a socket 939 motherboard and feel you want a bit more power before forking out hundreds of pounds for a new system then I definately recommend this. The FX-55 is a good overclocker, I have it with a DFI Lanparty nf4 SLi-DR Expert and have it comfortable running at 2.9Ghz with the fan it came with, and have had it up to 3.4Ghz with a vapour phase change cooling kit. I bought this thinking it was the dogs, well it is, but wish I had bought a x2 dual core CPU for the same price, as this will be more helpful with Vista and other applications. I can't fault this CPU in any of the tasks that I need it for though, it breezes through Quake 4 and Prey with easy, in no way does it bottle my 7900GTX GFX.
