Review of Sony Handycam DCR VX2000 by paul_cassidy2004

Advantages: Packed full of features, stylish, great quality
Disadvantages: Battery life a bit limited, slight big!

...a review of my fantastic Sony DCR VX2000. I got as a very generous joint birthday and Christmas. My mum got it for me and she spent just under £2000 pounds on it which was a bit steep. But we did need a new camera as our old Toshiba was getting on a bit. It is my camera but i am 'SUPPOSE' do lend it to my mum/brother/dad when they want it. Fat chance! I can't put it down for long enough. I have had it for about 3 months now and i am absolutely delighted ...
...have ever owned. Well done mum! I am still a bit nervous of dropping it though. This is because my mum basically said that it i damaged it, she would never speak to me again! Specifications: ..................... Uses Mini DV as its recording format. It uses NTSC for the recording system. TRIPLE CCD- very impressive as most of the cheaper cameras only have single CCD let alone double and triple CCD. Very Impressive. Optical zoom of 12x. Useful ... Read review

I recommend this!!
Review of Sony Handycam DCR PC100D by mwhiteheaduk

Advantages: Compact DV camcorder, very high quality lens, long-lasting battery, battery life reported in real time. S-video in/out, FireWire port for optional DV editing software. LaserLink comunication.
Disadvantages: Uses full resolution of the 1Mpix CCD for still pictures only. Not very good in underlit conditions. Need to buy MemoryStick reader and more memory because 4MB is not enough if you are going to use it for still shots.

I have had this Sony DCR PC100 camcorder for more than a year and still I think it is one of the best DV camcorders on the market. All in all, it is a great camcorder with lots of features. The quality of the video is among the best I've seen in the one CCD class - bright and vivid colors. The body feels very solid. Quite and sturdy mechanism compared to JVC, for example. The menus are very intuitive. Nice color high-resolution viewfinder and LCD. ...
...are only using the viewfinder and about an hour with the LCD. You can get an extra NP-FM50 but no bigger than that because it will stick out of the body. I especially like the video in/out interfaces of the camera allowing to convert between composite, S-video, and DV formats in any direction. Some reviews say that zoom is too sensitive but I think one gets used to it with little practice. External mic shoe and headphones are another plus. Menus ... Read review

Now what did they do
Review of Sony Handycam DCR TRV10E by dohare

Advantages: small compact, view screen
Disadvantages: not DV IN without an extra widget

I bought a dcr-trv10 last year, just before my 30th birthday. The main purpose was to record the celebrations. We took a trip across to Dublin for the St. Pat's festival. My stories from their can be read in another of my opinions. One of the best features of this small digital camcorder is the view screen, and this proved to be of great use on the first night. Whilst in the middle of a large crowd and not having the best view of the stage, out ...
...within a minute of starting I had about twenty people watching the screen rather than attempting to watch the stage. This happened again during the Parade on the 17th. On our return to the UK this camcorder then allowed itself to be connected direct to my PC and download the coomplete contents of the tqapes recordings. These were then edited and 'downloaded' back to VHS tape without any loss of quality. This download was only possible after the ... Read review

Excellent - but look for the best deal
Review of Sony DCR-TRV20E by JimSummers

Advantages: Compact, extensive feature list, including DV-in, high resolution video and stills, high-res viewfinder & LCD screen, fast / smooth response on mechanical componentse on mec
Disadvantages: Power switch is slightly awkward for one-handed use; underside tape loading inconvenient for tripod users

This opinion is registered as an early impression - I have not yet used (or indeed mastered) the many facilities provided on this camera. However, what I have seen and used so far is impressive. On basic facilities, firstly: - the camera is incredibly compact considering the feature specification - the LCD screen (approx 3.5" diagonal) is easily viewable under most lighting conditions - the viewfinder is also clear, can be "telescoped" as well ...
...those of us who are long / short-sighted - focus and zoom responses appear to be very fast (zoom is almost too fast - slow zooming requires very delicate control on the small zoom button) - the Memory Stick facility for recording megapixel digital stills is good - high-res images will very quickly fill the standard 4MB Memory Stick, but they can be transferred to tape fairly easily - larger capacity Memory Sticks are available - manual focussing ... quite rare outstanding
Review of Sony CCD-TRV27 by uptyu

Advantages: Good alround product
Disadvantages: slightly heavy

sony ccd-trv16e This camera is not listed on the clio site as it is quite rare. The exact specification is Sony 180x Digital Zoom video8XR. I purchased this camera in May 1999 from a photographic retailer in Gibralter, the serial number and manufacturer plate is dated as February 1999 so it was totaly brand new when purchased. Although bought in Gibralter it is covered by a European guarantee although this has never been needed, the camera is absolutely ...
...enables the camera to be used in total darkness and the recording results are brilliant. The camera is complete with all editing requirements and variations on colour changeing, when used with a Hauppauge win tvgo usb device the camera makes an excellent webcam although on the heavy side I find the camera very efficient, it always gives first class recordings and when run through the wintvgo any single frame can be frozen and printed instantly therefore ...
