A superb performer in its day
Review of Sony Handycam DCR PC109E by
streetmachine100
Advantages: Compact, light, wide range of features
Disadvantages: The camera switch
I purchased this camcorder around a year ago, mainly for holidays, and my own hobby, wacthing anything with petrol in it burning up a track. When you purchase you get a standard battery giving you around an two hours, which is not that long, so I bought a larger battery - NP-FF71 and this gives you nearly four hours - more than enough. The hybrid LCD display is superb, and very easy to use, I picked up all of the basics without even looking a the ... ...a small book listing all of the compatible attachments, lights, microphones, batteries, cables, tripods etc etc - which saves a lot of time if you like me - not an expert.
As a camcorder the recording quality is good, but more modern machines might me are a little better, but it is more than good enough. Using the camera is a little disappointing, as the switch is a little awkward; it isn't a button, but when you click it it can sometimes make you ...

Sony DCR DVD201E Camcorder
Review of Sony Handycam DCR DVD201E by
Soundsexciting
Advantages: Widescreen mode
Disadvantages: slow access to dvd, no separate memory card slot
...mode is beyond me. However Sony have finally done it and its great. I now record footage and play it back on my TV in the correct proportions without any of that faffing about with changing the aspect mode on your TV. Also my wife doesn't appear stretched on TV thus removing all talk about 'Does my bum look big on this TV'
Theres a x10 optical zoom which is more than sufficient for the average user. Unless you have a super steady hand or a tripod, ... ...mini-dvd as the video footage. Sony should have provided a separate memory card slot for this. Instead it means that when you take snaps you have to connect the camcorder using the usb cable to your computer instead of simply removing a memory card and sticking it into the appropriate memory card slot.
Overall its a compact, well built camera. Very easy to use with nice and logically laid out controls and it produces high quality results. The editing ...

Sony Handycam
Review of Sony Handycam DCR PC103 by
thespurs
Advantages: Great Features, Easy to use, Sony product - well priced and quality, Durable
Disadvantages: None
...My Dad bought this Sony Handycam a while ago now. It has come in very handy for a number of things, everything from recording family occasions to some of my school projects. We have also let friends borrow the camera to record their parties and take abroad with them. Everyone who has used it has said it is a wonderful video camera and that they would definetly consider buying one, or something fairly similar, of their own in the future.
I will be ... ...there are any) about this Sony Handycam. Please bear with me when it comes to technical data and also feel free to correct me if I make any silly mistakes.
*Ease of Use* As I have said, I don't much about video recording devices. When I first picked this Handycam up, I thought to myself 'Oh, this should be fun'. In fact I soon got the hang of how it works and how to use the various functions and settings. Sony, have made a product with the user ...

Never miss a thing
Review of Sony Handycam DCR PC105 by
gh2002
Advantages: Great features in a compact design
Disadvantages: Handling/ very sensitive zoom
...camcorders in the past, the Sony DSC PC105 ranks very high and if you're not interested in professional features found on 3CCD models which are much bulkier and expensive, you will be very happy with this particular model. Excellent for general use, more than adequate for the more serious user if an external mic. is attached (for those interested in better sound quality). I use the camcorder semiprofessionally, and most of the time just for fun! ...
