Albie and the Space Rocket is a book which my boys love to read. THE STORY The story begins with Albie being tucked up in bed and sleeping when something suddenly takes his bed away from him. He goes downstairs to investigate. In the downstairs toilet he finds two moose dancing the tango but no toilet. Albie then goes into the kitchen where he finds a zebra who has a cupboard full of his zebra friends. Albie continues to search for his missing ...
...toilet! The elephants tell Albie that he cant have the things back as the rocket is almost ready for blast off to the planet Jupiter. Albie asks if he can have his bed back and the elephants tell him to ask the colony of penguins who are standing behind him. Will Albie get his bed back or will the space rocket get to Jupiter? You will have to read the book to find out!!!!! MY OPINION My boys love listening to this story and have fun finding ... Read review

Advantages: Action packed, fast paced book which has you on the edge of your seat.
Disadvantages: May be the last Alex Rider book.

...with magic and adventure. Ark Angel is an attractive looking book, as are all the Alex Rider books, and it certainly stands out with it's shiny gold cover and silver insignia on the front. This is accompanied by the author's name in dark gold, the title in white and the phrase "Alex Rider is back - and this time there are no limits" in white at the bottom of the cover. I am always attracted to a book if the cover looks good, which is probably shallow ...
...be bothered to make sure the cover is right, how good can the book be? I'll include a picture of the cover with this review. The story begins where the last book (Scorpia) left off. Alex is in hospital after being shot by a sniper. However, the first chapter is not about Alex at all. The Princess and The Wizard - another wonderful book by Julia Donaldson. This is another one of my daughter's faves although perhaps the story is a little bit long for her at the moment but she loves the pictures, especially the glittery ones. It's the story of Princess Eliza, who gets captured & whisked away (on her 7th birthday of all days!) by a wicked wizard who likes turning people to stone. Luckily before she is taken away, her fairy godmother ...

This is the touching story of a young boy called Bertie told by his widowed wife after his death to another young boy called Jack after he finds himself in her garden after running away from boarding school (the same school Bertie went to) Bertie grew up in Africa where met his "Butterfly lion" but had to leave him when he got sent to England to go to boarding school. ...which would be easy as the print is large and there are only 127 pages which contain some non-coloured pictures(by Christian Birmingham), which help illustrate and capture the magic of the story wonderfully. I got made to read it for my Uni course, but i am so glad it was this book as its such a beautiful story and had me actually crying in parts! This is the first Michael Morpurgo book i have read, but i will certainly be reading a few others ... Read review
