Terrific stuff!!!
Review of Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever - James Patterson by blackalleycat

Advantages: very easy to read
Disadvantages: difficult to put down

...finished this book, having read Maximum Ride, the Angel Experiment before it. This is the sequel to that book and the second in a series of I think four novels.I have also read When the wind blows and The Lake House (for an adult audience) involving the same characters.. I am an older Adult but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is written in short, snappy chapters which makes it ideal for older or younger adults alike. This is a fantasy tale but ...
...get hold of a hardback copy since you may want to read it again!! I would recommend that you read Maximum Ride, The Angel Experiment first. as then this story will make more sense as it follows on from the first book. A great series! ... Read review

Mog loves babies...
Review of Mog and the Baby - Judith Kerr by danielalong

Advantages: Feel good book about a well loved character
Disadvantages: Tad dated and baby is irritating

Mog and The Baby Another in the series featuring the cute cgrey stripey cat, Mog. Although Little Miss heard the Mog books when she was younger, I notice that they have made a reappearance; I assume this is in no small measure due to the fact that she recently became the proud owner of a grey cat. ~~Story and Illustrations~~ The Mog books have 4 other main characters other than Mog; Mr and Mrs Thomas, Debbie and Nicky. Since they were published ...
...(although there are only 2- Mog can be the .4!) Anyway, to the story, Debbie is going to school, whilst Mrs Thomas stays behind to look after Nicky who has a cold. Yes, we actually see Debbie smiling and waving as she gets into the car with her dad... I haven't yet met a child who leaves the house happily whilst their sibling stays at home. However, since Nicky is sniffling into his handkerchief, we shall forgive him the next double page spread ... Read review

A strange journey
Review of Mog in the Dark - Judith Kerr by danielalong

Advantages: Simple book for new readers
Disadvantages: I think it's a bit strange

Mog in the dark One of the ever popular Mog books, this appeals to children's sense of humour STORY AND ILLUSTRATIONS The story focuses around Mog, the stripey grey and white cat; if children have read any Mog books before they will be instantly familiar with her 9we assume it's a she). Mog is outside and not happy because she want to be inside with her people- cue a picture of a quite sad looking cat and a picture of her imagining her people ...
...sitting in the trees with Mog clinging to a branch looking terrified! Mog is rudely awoken from her reverie by a mouse- a flying mouse and as Mog clings to its back, they fly over the houses. Mog is confused and asks lots of questions as to whether it's a mouse thing or a dog thing! The thing tells her that it is a "mousedogbird" and indeed it does have a mouse head and dog body and wings! No, children do not find this at all confusing but accept ... Read review

Forgetfulness
Review of Mog the Forgetful Cat - Judith Kerr by neenn

Advantages: Lovely story with good rhythm and illustrations.
Disadvantages: Bit odd how the burglar is invited for a cup of tea & slightly dated fashion.

...relating to the cat: Mog and the Vee Ee Tee Mog's Christmas Mog and the baby Mog in the dark Mog's Amazing Birthday Caper There's also a Big Mog Tape Audio Book available which is great for the car or bedtimes if you want a break for the night! ~ The story ~ Don't be put off by the fact that this book is nearly as ancient as me! The story is about Mog, a lovely, chubby, fluffy, tabby cat with a white tummy and white paws. Mog belongs to ...
...Mog forgets whether cats can fly or not and whether she has had her supper and that cats have milk for breakfast so sometimes she jumps on the table and begins to eat the boiled egg much to the horror of the very refined family! The family always tend to say "Bother that cat!" as her antics due to her forgetfulness get worse and worse. But one night, Mog's forgetfulness saves the family..................she not surprisingly, forgets how to use ... Read review

Christmas is Coming
Review of Mog's Christmas - Judith Kerr by ciaomeister1

Advantages: It's a timeless classic
Disadvantages: Not enough about the jolly uncle

...a white bibbed front. Mog's Christmas ~ The Story This is a timeless book, featuring the slightly hapless cat named Mog. The story starts with Mog waking up one morning and finding that 'nothing was right in her house'. Her family, Mr and Mrs Thomas and their children Debbie and Nicky are all very busy getting ready for Christmas. There are also two Aunts, on tippy toes and a jolly Uncle in the house, making it all too full for Mog's liking. Mog ...
...of emotion and expression on Mog's face as well as the humans faces. My only regret is that the jolly uncle and tippy toed Aunts don't feature more in the story, because I am fairly sure that most families have relatives like these characters. I believe that Mog's Christmas is the second Mog book written by Judith Kerr and first published in the 1976. The first book in the Mog series was Mog the forgetful cat. Other Mog books by Judith Kerr include ... Read review
