Baudelaire Bad Luck
Review of The Wide Window - Lemony Snicket by Drummer5390

Advantages: Nice storyline, Nice book cover and a great series.
Disadvantages: May need to have read the books from the start.

*****Authors Review***** In The Bad Beginning, things, well, begin badly for the three Baudelaire orphans. And sadly, events only worsen in The Reptile Room. In the third in Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, there is still no hope on the horizon for these poor children. Their adventures are exciting and memorable, but, as the author points out, "exciting and memorable like being chased by a werewolf through a field of thorny bushes ...
...story begins when the orphans are being escorted by the well-meaning Mr. Poe to yet another distant relative who has agreed to take them in since their parents were killed in a horrible fire. Aunt Josephine, their new guardian, is their second cousin's sister-in-law, and she is afraid of everything. Her house (perched precariously on a cliff above Lake Lachrymose) is freezing because she is afraid of the radiator exploding, she eats cold cucumber ... Read review

More Miserable but Much Better
Review of The Reptile Room - Lemony Snicket by rhyrhy1

Advantages: Fast moving plot
Disadvantages: Too Depressing at times

Within these pages the Baudelaire children endure a car accident, a terrible smell, a deadly serpent, a long knife, a large brass reading lamp and the reappearance of someone they hoped that they would never see again. Characters Violet: She is the eldest Baudelaire orphan at 14. She likes inventing and made a vow to keep her siblings safe. She always has her hair tied back so that it doesn't get in her way. Klaus: He is the middle Baudelaire ...
...After freeing themselves from the evil Count Olaf, the Baudelaire orphans are heading for yet another distant relative who they barely know. However, things start to look up when they realise that even though their uncle Monty Montgomery, a herpetologist who here means the studier of snakes, is actually a very nice person. In 'Book the 2nd' they are driving down Lousy Lane in a cramped car with MR Poe. When they arrive at the house they are very ... Read review

A miserable story?
Review of The Miserable Mill - Lemony Snicket by kimassemat

Advantages: It's not too short, but neither is it too long, so the length is great.
Disadvantages: It can drag on a bit.

The fourth in a series of books about three (very) unlucky children is, in a way, different to the first three books. The first books see the children passed around various relatives, but in the Miserable Mill, they are sent to work in a factory! Nowadays, this would be considered child labour, especially as their lunch meal consists of chewing gum, but the Baudelaire children are in a different time and place. A world where children working all ...
...willing the children to succeed against the evil Count Olaf and his henchmen. The poor children still find themselves being pursued by him while the useless Mr Poe is still, pretty much ... useless. However miserable the story, you still wish that you could jump in there and help them. ... Read review

The End
Review of The End: An Unforunate Series Of Events (Book 13) - Lemony Snicket by sugarbunny91

Advantages: It's scary, funny, and heavy enough to kill a fly.
Disadvantages: Deceiving cover. Not actually shiny enough to scrape off aforementioned fly.

The End. From the very beginning it is the end. And what an end it is. Although it's not really an end, as it ends pretty much how the other 12 end. Which is to say ending without actually having an end. If you've read the other 12 then you should read this. Even though it's the same. By which I mean it's the not the same. And if you haven't read the other 12 then you should read it anyway, as it is the same as other books only in the way that it, ... Read review
