Unfortunately by the time we discovered it, he had grown out of all that although there are occasions when he still plays up a little bit and tries to convince us that one story more wouldn't be so bad. The best thing about this book is that it is done in a way that children will find amusing but will see that it's really better for them to behave. How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? THE STORY The story begins by asking questions about how a dinosaur eats his food. Does it belch or make rude noises? Does he pick at it, does he fuss, does he flip it in the air and goes on to ask more questions. We are then told exactly how a dinosaur does eat his food. ...last few pages show us how the dinosaur sits and eats it nicely. My boys like this story and they answer the questions which are asked at the beginning. The words are all spread out over 29 pages with only a few words on each page which is great for my 5 year old as he is now able to read most of them by himself and is not put off by there being loads of text in the one place. ...a child (or moaning bloke) how not to behave when they are ill and starts by showing what it would look like if the dinosaurs dropped tissues over the floor and threw their medicine away. It shows human mothers trying to deal with all this bad behaviour and how much easier it is for them when the dinosaurs behave properly. ...the importance of rules on how to behave in different situations. I know I have had trouble in the past with getting my son to bed or to eat his tea properly. The Princess and The Wizard - another wonderful book by Julia Donaldson. This is another one of my daughter's faves although perhaps the story is a little bit long for her at the moment but she loves the pictures, especially the glittery ones. It's the story of Princess Eliza, who gets captured & whisked away (on her 7th birthday of all days!) by a wicked wizard who likes turning people to stone. Luckily before she is taken away, her fairy godmother ...

I got made to read it for my Uni course, but i am so glad it was this book as its such a beautiful story and had me actually crying in parts! This is the first Michael Morpurgo book i have read, but i will certainly be reading a few others ... Read review
