Grind
Review of Haden Grinder by handjobjobby

Advantages: Very good
Disadvantages: A tad noisy

I was looking for a good sturdy reliable coffee grinder, for that fresh tasting coffee you get in coffee shops. My wife has worked in many catering facilitys and was familiar with this make of product. So I ordered it, and though it was not the cheapest grinder, it was far from the most expensive either. It is very easy to work, and grind the coffee into very fine coffee, or rather course coffee. The machine is far from quite whilst carrying ... Read review

professional burr mill at home
Review of Cuisinart DBM8U BURR MILL (18 Position Grind) by mjc121

Advantages: top quality, 5 year guarantee, 18 grind settings
Disadvantages: loud

If you are buying fresh coffee then unless it's in those vac packs it is always best to buy it as beans rather than having the shop grind it for you. Coffee goes stale quite quickly after it has been ground and should be used within a few days to have it at it's best. If bought as beans it will keep for up to a month and you can grind it as it is needed. It also means you can grind it to suit different machines. I use both a cafetiere and an espresso ...
...bought this coffee grinder after my cheap blade mill finally gave up. It was expensive (£56) but I had £30 worth of tokens for a well known department store so bought it as I know the name is a good one. The major advantage is that it is a burr mill. This is where the coffee is not in constant contact with blades so the grind is more even so no more of the mix of dust and bigger lumps. The grind is done by grinding 'plates' and after it is ground ... Read review

Deep Purple Likes to Grind Coffee!
Review of Delonghi KG39 by Necormancer

Advantages: Does the job consistantly, Easy to use!
Disadvantages: Breakable parts, Minimum of 4 cups at 1 time.

...and use it in my DeLonghi machine, but it looked like a very good grind indeed. I was impressed. I tried the coffee and yes, it tasted better than ground coffee. So, cheers to a nice cup of coffee! However, i was expecting it could fit more into it. If you're doing a party with coffee (Trust me, i would!) 84g isn't much at one time. But still, for someone at home, a teenager who wants a quick grind to have a lovely cup of coffee to get rid of the ...
...along with other mouldings from DeLonghi products. We have a lot of DeLonghi in our house you see! The mouldings break for them very easilly. But you can replace them at the website, for a price though. Also, cleaning the inside can be an issue. Sometimes i end up mixing beans, which doesxn't lead to a great result. It isn't waterproof, and it never ALL comes out. After the first time you use it, it's dirty for life. Anyway, to conclude, it's a ... Read review

Great grinding machine
Review of Cuisinart DBM8U BURR MILL (18 Position Grind) by SvenP

Advantages: Quality results, robust, reliable
Disadvantages: Can clog with very large beans

This coffee mill has been in near daily use since 2004 when we found it in a homeware shop in Truro. At the time, the high price (as I thought at the time) concerned me, but a colleague and real coffee afficionado had been talking to me of the benefits of a burr mill for a number of weeks. He was right in every respect. A burr mill removes the variation in the grind size that you get in a blade based mill, and the coffee is subjected to a lower heat ...
...the chamber while the blades continue to chop. This apparently helps the beans keep more of the oils that give the coffee its flavour. All I can attest to is that the coffee made with this mill is better than any I made with a blade grinder. The hopper will take around 200g of beans, and unscrews to allow cleaning when you change bean type. There are 18 different grind settings that you click to when screwing the top back on so it is very easy to ... Read review

Coffee!!
Review of Gaggia 74517 by crazybcrich

Advantages: Good.
Disadvantages: Noisy :(

There is nothing quite as good as an exceptional cup of coffee, many a sunday morning I have put my feet up in the local coffee shop with the papers and settled down for a couple of hours enjoying the cafe's latest velvety delicacy. That was until two weeks ago when I was given this coffee grinder as a thank you present...... me grind my own coffee..... surely not....... However the next Sunday morning I found myself unpacking this contraption and ...
...The actual grinder could not have been easier to use. Being male I naturally only briefly looked at the instruction manual before setting it all up. The instructions were straight forward and helpful. The grinder has an adjustable setting for the coureness of grind (which is extremely useful for differing types of coffee machine). You simply load up the beans, adjust the courseness and turn the dial to the correct level and press start. The beans ... Read review
